How to Delete a Canva Team and Access Canva Pro as an Individual

If Canva only gives you the option to create or manage a team instead of choosing an individual Canva Pro subscription, it’s likely because you’re currently part of or managing a Canva team workspace. Here’s how to delete the team and switch to an individual Canva Pro plan.

Method 1: Leave the Team if You’re Not the Owner

  1. Log in to your Canva account.
  2. Click your profile photo or initials in the top right corner.
  3. Under “Your teams”, select the team you’re part of.
  4. Click “Settings” (gear icon) from the left sidebar.
  5. Scroll down to “Members”, find your name, and click the three dots next to it.
  6. Select “Leave team”.
  7. You’ll be returned to your personal Canva workspace and can then subscribe to Canva Pro individually.

Method 2: Delete the Team if You Are the Owner

  1. Log in to your Canva account.
  2. Click your profile icon and choose the team you want to delete.
  3. Go to “Settings” on the left sidebar.
  4. Under “Billing & Plans”, ensure no active Pro subscription is tied to the team (cancel it first if needed).
  5. Return to “Settings” > “People”, and remove all members except yourself.
  6. Then go to “Settings” > “Team Info”.
  7. Scroll down and click “Delete team” or “Delete workspace”.
  8. Confirm the deletion when prompted.
  9. You’ll be returned to your personal Canva space, where you can now select an individual Pro plan.

Method 3: Create a New Canva Account for Individual Use

  1. Sign out of your current Canva account.
  2. Go to www.canva.com and click Sign Up.
  3. Use a different email address to create a new Canva account.
  4. Once logged in, go to Pricing in the top menu and choose Canva Pro.
  5. Complete the payment to activate your individual Pro subscription without a team.

Method 4: Contact Canva Support for Account Role Changes

  1. Go to Canva’s Help Center: https://www.canva.com/help/
  2. Scroll to the bottom and click “Contact Us”.
  3. Choose the options to reach support about “Account or billing”.
  4. Explain that you want to switch from a team setup to an individual Pro plan.
  5. Wait for Canva’s response, they can sometimes adjust this from their end if settings are locked.
