Use USB tethering on Galaxy S25
USB tethering lets your Galaxy S25 share its mobile data with a computer through a USB cable. It is usually more stable than hotspot and can also keep your phone charging while connected.
How to use USB tethering on Galaxy S25
- Insert a data-capable USB-C cable, then connect your Galaxy S25 to your computer.
- On your phone, open Settings.
- Tap Connections.
- Tap Mobile Hotspot and Tethering.
- Turn on USB tethering.
- On your computer, wait a few seconds for the new wired network connection to appear, then test internet access.
If USB tethering is grayed out or not working
- Make sure you are using a USB cable that supports data transfer, not a charge-only cable.
- Confirm mobile data is enabled on the phone; USB tethering shares cellular data, not Wi-Fi.
- Reconnect the cable and try a different USB port on your computer.
- Set the phone’s USB mode to file transfer/data if your computer does not detect the device.
- Restart both devices, then enable USB tethering again.
Quick tips
- Carrier plans may limit tethering or charge extra, so check your plan if there is no internet after connecting.
- Turn off USB tethering when finished to reduce battery and background data usage.
