Turn on airplane mode and emergency location settings on Galaxy S25
Need to quickly control wireless radios and make sure emergency location tools are ready on your Galaxy S25? Here’s the fastest way to set both up correctly.
Turn Airplane mode on or off from Quick Settings
- Swipe down from the top-right of the screen to open the Quick Settings panel.
- Tap Airplane mode (plane icon) to turn it on.
- Tap it again when you want to turn it off and restore normal network connections.
Tip: Airplane mode disables mobile network, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth at first. You can manually re-enable Wi-Fi or Bluetooth afterward if needed.
Turn Airplane mode on or off from Settings
- Open Settings.
- Tap Connections.
- Turn Airplane mode on or off.
Enable Emergency Location Service (ELS)
- Open Settings and tap Safety and emergency.
- Tap Emergency Location Service.
- Turn on Use Emergency Location Service.
When enabled, your phone can share more accurate location data with emergency responders during supported emergency calls or messages.
Set up Emergency SOS essentials
- Go to Settings > Safety and emergency > Emergency SOS.
- Enable the SOS trigger (usually pressing the Side button multiple times).
- Set your Emergency number and add Emergency contacts.
- Optionally configure countdown and warning sound so accidental triggers are less likely.
Quick test checklist
- Confirm the airplane icon appears in the status bar when Airplane mode is on.
- Turn Airplane mode off and verify cellular service returns.
- Re-open Safety and emergency and confirm ELS and SOS settings are still enabled.
If menus look slightly different, install the latest software update on your Galaxy S25 and check again.
