Fix Galaxy S25 not receiving calls

If your Galaxy S25 suddenly stops receiving calls, the issue is usually tied to network registration, call settings, or SIM provisioning. Work through the fixes below in order, and test an incoming call after each method.

Method 1: Check signal, Airplane mode, and carrier status first

  1. Make sure your phone has stable signal bars. If signal is weak, move to an open area or near a window.
  2. Open Quick Settings and confirm Airplane mode is off.
  3. Turn Airplane mode on for 10 seconds, then turn it back off to force a network re-registration.
  4. If possible, check your carrier app or status page for local outages.
  5. Confirm your line is active and there are no account restrictions from your carrier.

Method 2: Disable call-blocking features that can silently reject calls

  1. Open the Phone app.
  2. Tap the three-dot menu > Settings > Block numbers.
  3. Remove any number that should be allowed to call you.
  4. Turn off Block unknown/private numbers while testing.
  5. Go to Settings > Notifications > Do Not Disturb and make sure DND is off (or that call exceptions are set correctly).

Method 3: Review call forwarding, call barring, and SIM state

  1. In the Phone app settings, check supplementary call settings and ensure incoming-call barring is disabled.
  2. Verify call forwarding is not routing all calls away from your number.
  3. Go to Settings > Connections > SIM manager and confirm your SIM/eSIM line is enabled.
  4. If you use dual SIM, make sure the affected line is correctly set for calls.
  5. Restart the device and ask someone to call you again.

Method 4: Refresh SIM and network configuration

  1. Power off the Galaxy S25.
  2. Remove and reinsert the physical SIM (skip this if eSIM-only), checking for dust or visible damage.
  3. Power back on and wait for network bars to stabilize.
  4. Go to Settings > General management > Reset > Reset network settings.
  5. Reconnect to Wi-Fi/Bluetooth afterward and retest incoming calls.

Method 5: Isolate software conflicts and update system software

  1. Update One UI from Settings > Software update > Download and install.
  2. Boot into Safe mode and test whether calls come through there.
  3. If calls work in Safe mode, uninstall recently added call-related, spam-filter, or automation apps.
  4. Restart normally and test again.
  5. If the issue remains, back up your data and consider a factory reset as a last software step.

When to contact your carrier or Samsung support

  • Calls still go straight to voicemail after network reset.
  • Your SIM works in another phone but not in your Galaxy S25.
  • You recently ported your number or switched carriers and incoming calls fail intermittently.
  • Your carrier confirms provisioning issues or needs to replace your SIM/eSIM profile.
