Fix Galaxy S25 no signal or no service

If your Galaxy S25 suddenly shows No service, No signal, or Emergency calls only, the issue is usually carrier-side registration, SIM/eSIM provisioning, or a network setting conflict. Work through the fixes below in order, from fastest to deepest.

Method 1: Refresh your cellular connection

  1. Open Quick Settings and turn Airplane mode on for 10–15 seconds, then turn it off.
  2. Wait up to 60 seconds and check whether signal bars and carrier name return.
  3. Restart the phone once if service does not come back immediately.

This clears temporary radio glitches and forces a fresh tower handshake.

Method 2: Verify SIM/eSIM status and line settings

  1. Go to Settings > Connections > SIM manager.
  2. Confirm your physical SIM or eSIM line is turned on.
  3. If you use dual SIM, make sure the correct line is set for Mobile data and Calls.
  4. For physical SIM users: power off, reseat the SIM tray, then power on again.

A disabled or poorly seated line can cause full service loss even when the device itself is fine.

Method 3: Manually reselect your carrier network

  1. Go to Settings > Connections > Mobile networks > Network operators.
  2. Turn off Select automatically.
  3. Wait for available networks, then pick your carrier manually.
  4. If it registers, turn automatic selection back on afterward.

This resolves cases where automatic network selection gets stuck after updates or roaming changes.

Method 4: Check network mode and roaming configuration

  1. Open Settings > Connections > Mobile networks.
  2. Set Network mode to your carrier-recommended option (typically 5G/LTE/3G/2G auto).
  3. If you are traveling or near borders, verify Data roaming settings are correct for your plan.

An incorrect mode or roaming state can trigger intermittent or total no-service behavior.

Method 5: Update software and carrier configuration

  1. Connect to Wi-Fi.
  2. Go to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
  3. Install pending updates, then restart and test signal again.

Modem and carrier profile fixes are often bundled in system updates.

Method 6: Reset network settings (recommended deep fix)

  1. Go to Settings > General management > Reset > Reset network settings.
  2. Confirm the reset.
  3. Reconnect Wi-Fi and Bluetooth devices afterward, then recheck mobile service.

This is one of the most effective fixes for persistent registration failures and random service drops.

Method 7: Confirm carrier/account status

  • Check your carrier’s outage map or support line.
  • Ask support to re-provision your line (SIM/eSIM refresh).
  • Verify your account is active and not suspended.

If the same SIM works in another phone but not your S25, request device-level network diagnostics.

When to seek repair

If you still get no service after all methods, and especially if the problem started after a drop or liquid exposure, you may be dealing with antenna or board-level hardware failure. Back up your data and have the phone inspected by Samsung or an authorized service center.
