Customize Home screen layout on Galaxy S25

Your Galaxy S25 Home screen can be customized far beyond just moving icons. You can adjust grid layout, app icon size, labels, widgets, folder behavior, and panel style so your layout is both clean and fast to use.

Start with Home screen edit mode

  1. Go to the Home screen.
  2. Touch and hold an empty area.
  3. Use this edit view to manage panels, widgets, wallpaper, and settings.

Set your screen grid and app icon size first

  1. From edit mode, tap Settings (Home screen settings).
  2. Tap Home screen grid and choose your preferred layout.
  3. Tap App screen grid if you also want to change app drawer density.
  4. Open App and widget style (if available on your build) and adjust app icon size slider.

Tip: set grid/icon size before placing widgets to avoid later misalignment.

Arrange Home panels the right way

  1. In edit mode, swipe through panels.
  2. Tap Home icon on the panel you want as your main screen.
  3. Drag panel thumbnails to reorder them.
  4. Remove unused panels with the delete option.

Add apps, folders, and favorites dock shortcuts

  1. Swipe up to open the Apps screen.
  2. Touch and hold an app, then drag to Home.
  3. To create a folder, drag one app onto another.
  4. Rename folder and choose folder color for faster scanning.
  5. Pin your most-used apps in the bottom dock for one-tap access.

Customize widgets without clutter

  1. Touch and hold empty Home area, then tap Widgets.
  2. Add only high-value widgets (calendar, weather, tasks, battery, etc.).
  3. Resize widgets after placement for cleaner spacing.
  4. Enable/disable app or widget labels in Home settings if your One UI version supports it.

Useful One UI 7 layout options to check

  • Rotate Home screen to landscape mode (if you use phone dock/landscape often).
  • Lock Home screen layout to prevent accidental icon movement.
  • Choose notification panel style behavior from quick panel settings if you prefer old swipe behavior.
  • Try enlarged folders for quicker one-tap launches when available.

Fix common layout issues after data transfer

  • If gaps appear after Smart Switch migration, reset grid first and then re-place widgets.
  • If icons look too crowded, reduce grid density or increase icon size.
  • If widgets look cut off, resize or move them after changing labels/font scale.
  • If layout keeps changing accidentally, enable Lock Home screen layout.

A good Galaxy S25 layout is simple: set grid and icon size first, then place apps, folders, and widgets in that order. That gives you a clean setup that stays stable over time.
