Add or remove app widgets on Galaxy S25
Widgets on Galaxy S25 let you see useful info without opening apps, like weather, calendar, battery, reminders, and smart home controls. This guide shows how to add, resize, move, stack, and remove widgets cleanly.
Add a widget to the Home screen
- Go to your Home screen.
- Touch and hold an empty area.
- Tap Widgets.
- Browse or search for the app widget you want.
- Select widget size/style, then tap Add.
- Drag it into your preferred location if needed.
Move and resize widgets
- Touch and hold the widget.
- Drag it to another area or another Home panel.
- If resize handles appear, drag edges/dots to change size.
- Release when spacing and alignment look right.
Not all widgets support resizing.
Customize widget settings
- Touch and hold the widget.
- Tap Settings (if available for that widget).
- Adjust available options such as data source, refresh behavior, transparency, or style.
Create and manage widget stacks
Widget stacks help keep your Home screen clean by grouping widgets in one space.
- Touch and hold a compatible widget.
- Tap Create stack (or add another widget onto it if your One UI version supports drag stacking).
- Add additional widgets to the stack.
- Swipe left/right on the stack to switch widgets.
- Open stack settings to edit order or remove individual items.
Remove a widget from Home screen
- Touch and hold the widget you want to remove.
- Tap Remove.
This removes only the widget from Home screen, not the app itself.
Add or remove Lock screen widgets (optional)
- Open Settings > Lock screen and AOD (wording can vary by version).
- Enter Lock screen widget settings.
- Enable or disable the widgets you want.
- Reorder if reorder controls are available.
Fix common widget issues
- Widget not showing in list: make sure app is installed and updated.
- Widget won’t resize: that widget may only support fixed dimensions.
- Widget data not updating: disable battery restrictions for that app.
- Widget disappears after restart: check if Home layout is being auto-optimized by a launcher/theme tool.
- Home screen feels cluttered: use fewer large widgets and combine related info into one stack.
A simple approach works best: add only high-value widgets, size them carefully, and keep one clean main Home panel for daily use.
