Fixing Sony SRS-XB12 Bluetooth Not Working Problem

Method 1: Perform a factory reset on Sony SRS-XB12

Sometimes this issue is caused by the speaker software freezing. A factory reset or hard reset is needed in this case to delete the data on this Bluetooth speaker and bring it back to its default settings. This is a useful troubleshooting step to do when you are experiencing problems with the device such as when you can’t make a Bluetooth connection.

  1. Open the cap on the rear side of the speaker and push the RESET button with a pin.

  • Press and hold down the Power button for 3 seconds or until the blue light flashes rapidly.

Delete the speaker connection name on your phone then do a Bluetooth scan so that the speaker name will appear on it. Try connecting to the speaker.

Method 3: Device is not in range

The ideal distance between the speaker and device it is connecting to should not exceed 100 feet. This distance will decrease if there are several obstructions or signal interferences such as walls between both devices. Try placing the speaker and the device it is connecting to side by side then check if the problem still occurs.
