Elon Musk’s Feud with Disney Escalates as Tesla Removes Disney+ App

The ongoing feud between Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Disney has taken a new turn, with reports that Tesla has removed the Disney+ app from its vehicle displays.

The tensions arose last month when Disney halted its advertising spending on X, the social media platform owned by Musk, after he tweeted an antisemitic meme. Musk later apologized but then publicly told Disney CEO Bob Iger to “go f*** yourself” during a conference appearance.

Now Musk appears to be escalating the spat by leveraging his position at Tesla. This weekend, Tesla owners began reporting that the Disney+ app had vanished from the “Theater” entertainment screens in their vehicles.

According to sources, Tesla informed Disney it would be removing the app last week without providing an explanation. The removal seems to only affect Tesla owners who have never used Disney+ in their vehicles before.

But for Musk critics, the latest move raises concerns about the Tesla CEO using the publicly traded auto company to carry out personal vendettas. It also risks negatively impacting Tesla owners who could lose access to a popular app they have paid for.

Disney has not publicly responded to the app removal yet. The entertainment giant pulled its advertising from X over worries that controversial and hateful content was becoming too prevalent under Musk’s management.

Meanwhile, Musk continues to battle critics who accuse him of allowing toxicity and misinformation to spread on X. He remains adamant that absolute free speech should reign on the platform.

The Tesla-Disney spat represents the latest example of real-world consequences emerging from Musk’s chaotic takeover of X. With Musk showing no signs of backing down in his fight against Disney, the tensions between the two companies appear poised to continue boiling.
