Dark Mode for Android Auto is finally rolling out

Google revealed early last month that Android Auto would be getting a Dark Mode, but didn’t provide details on when the redesign would be rolling out. Now, users are reporting on Reddit that they’re starting to see Dark Mode hit their Android Auto software.

The new redesign is found in version 4.4.592344 of Android Auto. It’s not a client-side update, but is essentially a switch being flicked on the server-side.

If you weren’t a fan of Android Auto’s colors before, Dark Mode should now be much easier on the eyes, especially when it comes to driving at night.

As part of the update, the UI should much better match the dimensions of your display, which is a problem for those with wider screens in their cars.
