ASUS to Launch ROG Phone 2 on July 23

ASUS launched the ROG Phone in June last year and appears to be preparing for the launch of the successor. According to a new report from China, the company will launch the ROG Phone 2 on July 23 at a dedicated ASUS event in Beijing, China. It is being said that the company will subsequently endorse the product to over 400,000 gamers at the ChinaJoy 2019 convention in Shanghai which kicks off on August 1.

As far as the features are concerned, there’s not much we know right now. However, it is being speculated that the handset will feature a 120Hz display which is a significant upgrade over the 90Hz display from last year’s ROG Phone. A display with higher refresh rate makes it ideal for gaming, which is something that ASUS will try to market heavily over the coming months.

We can also expect to see the unique cooling system as well as the glowing ASUS logo that we saw with the predecessor last year. There is also word that the phone will feature the brand new Snapdragon 855 SoC paired with up to 12GB of RAM, making this a powerhouse in terms of hardware configuration. Unfortunately, this is all we know about the smartphone right now, but more word should follow over the coming weeks.
