ASUS ROG Phone 2’s price revealed, good news for consumers worldwide

ASUS has been releasing details around its ROG Phone 2 very slowly. But now that pre-orders are live in China, we’re finally getting a look at what the phone is going to cost.

With the hardware that the phone was packing, many thought that the price would be astronomical. But that’s not the case. In China, Tencent’s model will retail for 3,499 yuan, or $509 USD. That’s affordable, right? It comes with 8GB RAM, and 128GB of internal storage.

There’s another model with the same hardware, which comes with that same 12GB RAM and 128GB of storage. That one will set you back by 5,999 yuan in China, which translates to roughly $873 in USD. This one is likely the standard / global model.

There are no official prices for the phone outside of China, but it will be safe to assume that the price will likely stick around the $899 USD range, what the original ROG Phone launched at last year. This isn’t going to be no $1500 – $2000 phone, as the specs had us afraid of.

There are no details around launch times in western markets either, other than that it could be in September.
