5 Best Toronto Subway Map App For Android

As with all major cities, the Toronto metro area can be a bear to navigate. Traffic is pretty heavy, with everyone trying to get to and from work. Not to even mention the sheer amount of tourists visiting the city. That said, many would rather use the TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) to navigate Toronto and its neighboring cities. The rapid transit system is just so much quicker to use then by car, at least in the majority of cases. Not only that, but there are a handful of applications that will help you get the information that you need on the TTC, such as arrival times, destinations, service alerts, and more.

Ready to download a Toronto Subway Map app on your phone? Here are some of the best options available for you today.

My TTC – Toronto Transit Bus, Subway Tracker

The first app that we’re looking at, and one that is decidedly in fifth place, we have My TTC, a great way to track both subway and bus routes. The app actually uses the Toronto Transit Commission’s real time data to get you TTC arrival times within the app. That gives you a really good idea when you need to be at your station or bus. There’s a lot of features packed into this one, such as stop tracking, route planning, offline usability, real time bus and streetcar tracking on an interactive map, TTC service alerts, bus schedules, and more. Check it out for yourself at the link below.

Toronto TTC Subway – Montransit

Coming in fourth place, we have Toronto TTC Subway by Monstransit. This is another one that pulls its real time data from from the Toronto Transit Commission, allowing you to get a good idea on when arrival, wait, and destination times are. Toronto TTC Subway is exclusively for the subway, so you won’t be able to view bus times, unfortunately. However, there are other handy features inside of the app, such as being able to view TTC Service Alerts and warnings. Toronto TTC Subway also has a high-res interactive map that you can comb through to better see where you are and where you need to be. It uses your phone’s GPS to show you exact locations as well.

Do a large amount of traveling? Then it’s likely that you don’t want to fill up your phone’s storage space with a bunch of city-specific transit applications. It supports Toronto as well — just select the city that you’re in, and you’ll be able to pull up (and even download) a subway map for that metro area. There’s more than just subway maps as well — there are bus routes, trains, and other transit system information. There are a handful of other extra features inside, such as being able to plan your own routes and look at estimated arrival times in supported cities.

Citymapper – Transit Navigation

And coming in second place — and coincidentally, a personal favorite — this is easily one of your best choices for obtaining transit information right now. That’s largely because Citymapper has a clean and easy to navigate user experience. It’s modern, and has a nicer looking design than most city-specific transit apps out there. As you might expect, Citymapper has all the usual transit musts like bus, subway and train routes and real time departure and arrival times. If you want, you even allow GPS location to see all of the nearby subway and bus stations, which is handy if you’re new to the city. Running out of data? Citymapper will even allow you to download maps onto your phone for offline use.

Transit: Real-Time Transit App By Transit App, Inc.

Citymapper is a personal favorite, but Transit: Real-Time has a couple of features that put it in number one spot. For one, Transit supports a whole lot more major cities than Citymapper does, and you still get that clean user interface. The app provides you with simple trip planning, point to point navigation, and service disruption notifications not only in the hectic Seoul metro area, but in other locations all over the world as well that you can choose from on journeys. It’s also one of the few easy to use transit apps with a clear interface.

Here we’ve shown you five of the best Subway Map apps for the Toronto metro areas. The Toronto-specific apps will provide you with a lightweight experience that will give you some basic information about Toronto’s rapid transit system.
