The initial price was around $20,400, but thanks to a $4,000 government tax credit for electric vehicles priced under $25,000, Chris managed to secure the car for approximately $16,000 after taxes.

The buying experience was straightforward, featuring no-haggle pricing that allowed him to test drive multiple cars before making his choice. However, he did note that the vehicle had high mileage, about 70,000 miles, which raised concerns about warranty coverage.

During his inspection, Chris discovered several cosmetic issues typical of rental cars. All four wheels exhibited significant curb rash, with some still showing remnants of red paint from previous scrapes against curbs. He mentioned purchasing a wheel repair kit but had yet to address the damage.
