How to Fix Valorant Connection Error
Valorant connection errors prevent you from joining matches or staying connected during gameplay. These fixes target the most common networking and client issues.
Method 1: Restart Riot Client and Vanguard
- Close Valorant completely.
- Right-click the Riot Vanguard icon in the system tray and select Exit Vanguard.
- Open Task Manager and end any remaining Riot or Valorant processes.
- Restart your PC to reinitialize Vanguard.
- Launch Valorant again.
Method 2: Flush DNS and Renew IP
- Open Command Prompt as administrator.
- Type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.
- Type ipconfig /release and press Enter.
- Type ipconfig /renew and press Enter.
- Restart Valorant and try connecting.
Method 3: Allow Valorant Through Firewall
- Open Windows Security > Firewall & network protection.
- Click Allow an app through firewall.
- Click Change settings and then Allow another app.
- Browse to the Valorant and Riot Client executables and add them.
- Make sure both Private and Public are checked.
- Restart Valorant.
Method 4: Change DNS Servers
- Open Network & Internet settings > Change adapter options.
- Right-click your active connection and select Properties.
- Double-click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).
- Select Use the following DNS server addresses.
- Set Preferred to 1.1.1.1 and Alternate to 1.0.0.1 (Cloudflare DNS).
- Click OK, restart, and try Valorant again.
Method 5: Reinstall Valorant
- Uninstall Valorant from Settings > Apps.
- Also uninstall Riot Vanguard.
- Restart your PC.
- Download the latest Valorant installer from playvalorant.com.
- Install and launch the game.
