Solved Samsung Galaxy S8 Static Screen
The #Samsung #Galaxy #S8 has the distinction of being one of the best Android smartphones released last year. This flagship model sports a 5.8 inch Super AMOLED display which covers most of the front part of the phone since it no longer has any physical home button. Inside the device is a Snapdragon 835 / Exynos 8895 processor combined with 4GB of RAM allowing the phone to run any app smoothly. Although this is a solid performing phone there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S8 static screen issue and other related problems.
S8 Static Screen
Problem: I was having colored snow/static on my screen for a couple of days. it would flicker a few times, then it would go back to normal. Then the color started changing to a lighter color on the screen with the snow/static. Then it started to go black, it would come back, then go black again, but now its just black. It is still working because it’ll recv texts, make calls on my car, and vibrate when I hit the area for the home screen. I have done the hold the volume down key and power key at the same time and I can hear it restart with the ding, but there is still nothing. All black.. I put oreo on the android version, but i really have no idea what that even means.
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch. To do this you will need to start the phone in recovery mode. In case the screen works in this mode then you will have to perform the two steps listed below.
- Wipe the cache partition of the device.
- Do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.
In case the issue still persists then this could already be caused by a damaged display assembly which can only be fixed if the display is replaced. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S8 Is Working But Screen Is Black
Problem: My 9 month old grandson was sucking , dribbling and chewing (with no teeth) my galaxy S8. After he did that my phone doesn’t work properly. It switches on, the blue notification light comes on, it plays the tune when I switch it on, the volume button beeps when you use it the phone rings but my screen is black. Before this happened my screen went all fuzzy (green in colour I think) and also the android man appeared and told me not to switch phone off. I’ve lost count how many times i’ve restarted the phone but it still goes through the same process as i’ve stated above then I’m just left with all functions working and a black screen. Please can you help
Related Problem: I dropped my phone in the pool at work while cleaning the pool. At first it was working as soon as i got it out. But I powered down the device and left my phone in rice for 24 hours. The device works, (meaning I can take pictures, play music, and receive notifications but the screen won’t turn on no matter what. I can’t even see anything to factory reset it.
Solution: Just like the issue which we have addressed above, the best thing that you can do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode. If the screen works in this mode then you will need to wipe the cache partition of the phone then follow this up with a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
In case the issue persists then it’s very likely that the display of the phone is damaged in which case you will need to bring this to a service center and have it checked.
S8 Screen Flickering
Problem: I have a samsung S8. While I was texting the phone was charging and the screen suddenly started to “fade of” in like greenish or pinkish color. It didn’t seemed normal I had no idea what was happening. After this incident I have lost all access with the interface and can’t use it all. it flickers all the time usually on the top of the screen in white and green and sometimes even pink color and the phone is completely useless, while the rest of the screen is whether black or sth like brown color. The think is you can feel that it can reboot or whatever but still I can’t do anything. What do you suggest I can’t find an answer on the internet. Please respond as soon as possible.
Solution: The first thing that you need to do is to check if an app you installed is causing the problem by starting the phone in Safe Mode. In case the issue doesn’t occur in this mode then it is very likely caused by a downloaded app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
In case the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then you will have to start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that this reset will erase your phone data.
In case the issue persists then it’s very likely that the display of the phone is damaged. You will have to bring this to a service center and have it checked.
