Solved Samsung Galaxy S8 Randomly Restarting

The #Samsung #Galaxy #S8 is a former flagship phone released last year that is best known for having a beautiful 5.8 inch Super AMOLED display that renders photos and videos with accurate precision. The phone also uses powerful hardware components allowing it to perform any task smoothly. Although this is a solid performing phone there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S8 randomly restarting issue and other related problems.

S8 Randomly Restarting

Problem: A couple of days ago I noticed it was shutting down at night & restarting, sometimes several times in a row. It has also had some response lag when I select an app or hit the Home button. Then last night it shut down several times & rebooted, now it’s stuck in the loop. I’ve tried a soft reset & factory reset. I’ve also tried putting the phone on an ice pack because I’ve read on other websites where it’s a problem with the battery overheating since the latest update. The phone has been very warm to the touch when it’s on lately. Nothing has worked. It charges with no trouble, it just won’t complete the boot cycle.

Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then I suggest that you remove this as this could be causing the problem. Once the card has been removed perform a soft reset by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.

In case the issue persists then you should try starting the phone in recovery mode then from here do a factory reset.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component. You will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked and repaired.

S8 Shutting Down Intermittently

Problem: Hi there. My Samsung Galaxy S8 has started shutting down intermittently and I have been able to reboot it successfully, thanks to your instructions, but I am wondering why this is starting to happen. Is there something wrong with the phone? My daughter has medical issues and I need my phone to be reliable if I need to be reached and I obviously can’t check the phone every second to make sure it hasn’t shut down. I am just wondering if there is a permanent fix for this. I would greatly appreciate your help.

Solution: Most of the time this problem is usually caused by a software glitch. To pinpoint what exactly is causing his problem you should follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. You will need to check if the issue will occur when the phone operates in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Remove the microSD card if you have one installed. Do not install any apps in the phone yet instead try to observe first if the issue still occurs.

In case the problem persists after following the steps listed above then this could already be caused by some faulty hardware component. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8 Battery Drains Quickly

Problem: i am having an issue with my galaxy S8. the issue is the battery once it reaches 25% it drops to 0% in the matter of 10 sec, i thought that the battery is causing the problem so i had it replaced it with a new one but the issue is still the same with the new battery, so i tried to change the firmware so i changed it , that did not help neither.. the thing that i noticed for the last 3 days after all of this is the phone shuts down without any reason several times a day.

Solution: It looks like this issue could already be caused by a faulty hardware component, possibly the power IC. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
