Release Date and Event

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is expected to be officially announced at the Snapdragon Summit 2024, scheduled to take place from October 21 to 23 in Maui, Hawaii. Following the announcement, the first smartphones equipped with this new chipset are anticipated to hit the market, with Xiaomi's 15 and 15 Pro series being among the first to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.

CPU and Architecture

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will reportedly feature Qualcomm's custom Oryon CPU cores, which have previously been seen in the Snapdragon X Elite and Plus laptops. The chipset is expected to come in two versions: the standard SM8750 and the improved SM8750P, with the latter potentially reserved for Samsung's upcoming flagship, the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

The CPU configuration includes two performance cores clocked at up to 4.32 GHz and six efficiency cores clocked at 3.53 GHz. These clock speeds are significantly higher than those of its predecessor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, indicating substantial performance gains.
