S7 Just Vibrates When Power Button Is Pressed

Problem: My phone has a crack on the upper right corner that doesn’t reach the screen but is wide enough that it broke off from the “G” in Samsung to the edge of the phone (again just the top where the camera is) and It suddenly stopped working, it hasn’t been turning on but whenever I hold the power button or plug it in, it vibrates and just doesn’t do anything else.

Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this case is to make sure that the battery has sufficient charge to turn on your phone by following the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port is removed.
  • Charge your phone for at least 20 minutes using a charging cord and wall charger that is known to work when checked on another device.
  • If your phone does not charge then try charging it from a computer USB port.

Once the phone has sufficient charge disconnect it from the charger then perform a simulated battery pull. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Not Turning On Even After Charging

Problem: i had my phone on charge last night, it wouldn’t go over 1% stayed the same i was playing a game when it made a fuzz noise and the phone switched off, i charged over night and still wont switch on done  all the rests nothing is working ..help please

Solution: Listed below are the troubleshooting steps that you need to perform to fix this issue.

  • Make sure that the charging port of the phone is free from any dirt or debris by cleaning it using a can of compressed air.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord that is known to work when tested with another device.
  • Charge your phone for at least 20 minutes using a different wall charger.
  • If the phone still does not charge then try charging it from a computer USB port.

After performing the steps listed above you should proceed with a simulated battery pull. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.

If your phone does not restart then I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Got Wet Now Has Moisture Detected Error

Problem: I tripped over at the beach and my phone got some water on it. Now trying to charge it states moisture in dock. I have tried 2 diff chargers. It’s an s7.

Solution: You will get this particular error message whenever the charging port of your phone gets wet. What happens in this case is that if you try to plug in the charger you won’t be able to charge the phone since the safety feature of the phone temporarily disables the charging port as a way of protecting itself from a short circuit..

What you will want to do in this case is to make sure that the charging port is dry. Some people use a mini vacuum to suck out the moisture from the port. Other people use their hair dryer sine aside from introducing some heat to the port it also blows the water particles away.

Once the charging port is dry you will be able to charge the phone.

S7 Not Turning On Not Charging

Problem: I pressed restart on my phone and now its not turning back on. Its also not charging now either. Surely this shouldn’t happen as it’s a new phone

Solution: What you will want to do in this case is to remove the microSD card if your phone has one installed. Once this is done perform a simulated battery pull by pressing and holding both power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. If your phone does not restart then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port.
  • Charge your phone for at least 20 minutes using a charging cord and wall charger that have been tested to work on another device.
  • If your phone does not charge then try charging it from a computer USB port. If your phone charges this way then one of the
  • pins of the charging port might be damaged. If this is the case then you will need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Once your phone has charged ty turning it on.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked as this might already be a hardware related problem.

S7 Keeps On Restarting To Lock With Spinning Circle

Problem: Phone keeps restarting showing a picture of a lock with 2 half circles spinning around it. I did a factory reset, but did not fix the problem.

Solution: The phone appears to be stuck in the decryption stage. Do you have a microSD card installed in your device? If you do have one then ty removing it as this might be causing the problem especially if the card has corrupt sectors.

S7 Locked Out Of Phone After Software Update

Problem: I’m totally  locked out of my phone following software update to Nougat. Password doesn’t work. I reset password through Google gmail, and password still doesn’t work. Samsung support is of no help. I can’t Power Off the phone. I can only Restart it.

Solution: To fix this particular problem you will need to perform a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that this will delete your phone data. Once the reset is complete check if you are now able to access your phone.

S7 Does Not Power On After Replacing Screen

Problem: After replacing the touch screen my phone won’t power on. Battery shows fully charged when you plug in the power cord.

Solution: You need to have the phone checked at a service center as the problem could be caused by the power button not making contact to the phone circuit.
