Samsung Galaxy S6 Music App Errors and Glitches

Good day dear readers! If you or someone you know is experiencing some issues playing music on your #SamsungGalaxyS6, this is the best place to step into. In the Android world, nothing is perfect. No matter how well you take care of your device, you can’t get rid of certain issues sprouting from time to time. This article specifically looks into certain problems that Android users face with the #musicapp may it be a stock or third party one. So what to do if you are faced with this dilemma? Here’s some tricks and tips on how to resolve it on your own. Read through on what other Android users have to say about it as well.

  1. The first thing that you need to do with music app issues is not to panic but to reboot your device. With this I mean a full blown power boot. Completely turn off your device and let it rest for five or more minutes before turning it back on.
  2. Attempt to clear the app cache as this can be a major culprit most of the time. You can do so by going to Settings>Application Manager and look for the music app on the list. Open it up and select Clear Cache to get rid of some unwanted files that may be causing this problem. Reboot your phone again and see if you can play music fine this time.
  3. Try using a different music app. You can find a great deal of third party apps in the Google Play Store.
  4. If everything fails, the last option is to perform a factory reset to get rid of certain malfunctions on the device. Make sure to back up your files before starting the process. To do this, you need to go to Settings>Backup and Reset Scroll down to the bottom and tap Factory Data Reset. Just follow the on screen instructions and confirm the reset then select Reset Device. Your phone is now back to factory default.

PROBLEM # 1: Samsung Galaxy S6 Music Syncing Issues

Hi. So I recently got my new Samsung Galaxy S6 and when I was listening to music I noticed there were gaps between songs like a minute or so. When I went to observe the problem, I saw that music is playing but the time in the music app gets to 1:56 and then stops, but music keeps playing. When the song finishes, the time continues and I have to wait until the time gets to the end and then the next song plays. I tried turning it off and then back on again and it worked, but if this occurs in the future, I don’t want to be forced to restart my phone every time it does. Thank you in advance. – Luka

Solution: Hello Luka. Does this randomly happen to any song? Did this happen the very first time you have attempted to play music on your device? Are you using the stock music player or a third party one? It appears that the audio and music display are not syncing with each other. A complete reboot is a good way to jumpstart the troubleshooting as it refreshes the software and stops running apps hence resolving firmware and app related issues most of the time. Since it did not help, the issue may lie on the app contents itself. Try clearing the music app’s cache by following the steps detailed above. It is also possible that this is a bug in the system. The only way to get rid of a bug is to run the system update and see if the manufacturers have created a fix. You can run the update by going to Settings>About Phone>Wireless Update and select Update Now.  You may also want to use another music app as it’s possible that your current one is corrupted. You can download a wide array of music applications from the Google Play Store. The aforementioned steps should resolve your issue.

PROBLEM # 2: Samsung Galaxy S6 “Unable to play music when audio or video is recording” Error When Playing Music

Hey man. I seem to be having a problem with the music on my Galaxy S6 at the moment. When I am playing music and a song ends, instead of going to the next song, it stops playing any music at all. My other problem happens while I am on certain apps just looking around and checking updates (ex. snapchat, messaging, etc.) and I try to play music from the scroll down bar. An error pops up saying “unable to play music when audio or video is recording” and keep in mind, this happens when I’m not recording any audio of sorts that I am aware of. So that’s pretty much it and if you could send me an email back that would be greatly appreciated! Thanks. — Ryan

Solution: Hi Ryan. Are you using the default music player or a third party music app? Clearing the music app’s cache should help resolve this. If this is a third party app, try uninstalling then reinstalling it as this appears to be some kind of bug to me. Better yet, install a different music app this time. You can browse through Google Play Store and select the music app that fits you. If this is affecting your stock music app and is firmware related, the best way to go is to reset your phone to factory settings. This will completely wipe out your phone so make sure to keep a backup copy of all your files.

PROBLEM # 3: Samsung Galaxy S6 Music Pauses When Disconnecting From Wi-Fi

Hello guys. I would like to know if you got any report on the following problem. Recently, when I’m listening to music from the music player (Samsung’s), I noticed a short glitch like a very short pause/play. Then I noticed it only happens every time I pass through Wi-Fi hot spots. So I realized the music paused for a millisecond only when the phone disconnected from the Wi-Fi and reconnected to the mobile data network (4g and 3g). I’ve already uninstalled third party apps that I recently installed and it didn’t work out. Have you guys been reported or have any tips on how to solve it? Thanks!  Anthoni

Solution: Hi Anthoni. Unfortunately, there have been no reports of this issue in the past and I am positive this has nothing to do with the third party apps you have installed. Is your Wi-Fi and mobile data turned on at the same time? Based on your findings, the best solution for this is to turn off your Wi-Fi while you are on mobile data and vice versa. If you are not using the net while playing music, turn off both of them. This is also one good way of isolating the issue further to see if it still occurs while offline. You may also want to reboot the device to refresh all the settings. So far, this is the best workaround. Let us know if you need further assistance.
