How To Fix Hello Neighbor 2 That Crashes On Xbox Series X|S

Games that are included in the Xbox Game Pass are all optimized to work properly on the console. However, there are times when issues occur and among those problems is when the game just stops working and crashes.

One of the games released this year is Hello Neighbor 2 and there were already reports from some Xbox gamers that it keeps crashing for no apparent reason. But the thing is that when a game crashes, there is often a problem with the game itself, the console or the server.

Time Needed : 10 minutes

It’s a good game and it would be a shame if you cannot make it work properly. So if you’re one of the people that encountered an issue while gaming with it, here are the things you should do to fix it.

  1. First solution: Force stop & relaunch Hello Neighbor 2.

The first thing you have to try is to force stop the game. Doing so will also stop all of its services that are running in the background, and relaunching it will also reload the game and in most cases, it will fix minor issues like crashes.

    Here’s how you do it:

Step 1. Press the Xbox button on the controller.
Step 2. Highlight Hello Neighbor 2 and press the Menu button.
Step 3. Select Quit to stop the game.

After doing that, launch the game and see if it still crashes at some point. If it does, then move on to the next solution.

  2. Second solution: Restart the console.

Rebooting your Xbox can also help fix game crashes as it refreshes the memory as well as reloads all the core services, provided that the problem is serious or server-related. So try doing this procedure to see if you can make Hello Neighbor 2 to work properly after that:

Step 1. Press and hold the Xbox button until the Power center shows.
Step 2. Select Restart console and select Restart to confirm.

Wait until the reboot is finished and then re-launch Hello Neighbor 2 to know if the problem is fixed.

  3. Third solution: Check the servers.

Server issues can also affect the overall performance of any game and if that’s the case, you really don’t have to do anything. Issues like that can often be fixed by themselves after a few hours depending on the response of the developer.

You have to know if that’s the case so that you don’t have to do things to try and fix it by yourself when you really can’t do anything to make the game work perfectly.

Step 1. To check the server, launch a web browser on your Xbox.
Step 2. Log on to Support.Xbox.com.
Step 3. Once the page loads, click Xbox Status.
Step 4. Scroll down to know if Hello Neighbor 2 is among the games that currently have problems.

If it’s listed as one of the games that currently have issues with their servers, then you just have to wait until the problem gets fixed. However, if it’s not, the move on to the next solution.

  4. Fourth solution: Check the connection.

Before moving on to the other solutions, make sure that your console is connected to the Internet and that the connection is fast and stable. What you need to do next is to do a simple speed test right from your console itself. This is how it’s done:

Step 1. Press the Xbox button and then launch Settings.
Step 2. Under General, select Network settings.
Step 3. Select Text network speed & statistics and wait until the results are shown.

If your connection speed is very slow, then that might be the reason why the game crashes. However, if it’s fine, then move on to the next solution.

  5. Fifth solution: Clear the game’s cache.

There are times when the game’s cache gets corrupted and affect the performance of the game itself. So what you have to do next is to delete the current cache so that it will be replaced with a new once. Here’s how you do that:

Step 1. Press the Xbox button on your controller, and select My games & apps.
Step 2. On the next menu, select See all.
Step 3. Highlight Hello Neighbor 2 and press the More options button.
Step 4. Select Manage game and add-ons.
Step 5. Select Saved data and then select Delete All.
Step 6. Select Delete all once again to confirm.

Once you’ve done that, launch the game again to see if the problem still occurs or if it still crashes at some point. If it still does, then move on to the next solution.

  6. Sixth solution: Reinstall the game.

After doing all that and Hello Neighbor 2 continues to crash, what you need to do next is to remove the game from your console and then reinstall it. Doing so will remove all possible corrupt installation files from the console and make sure you’re using the updated version of the game. Here’s how you uninstall the game:

Step 1. Press the Xbox button on your controller, and select My games & apps.
Step 2. On the next menu, select See all.
Step 3. Highlight Hello Neighbor 2 and press the More options button.
Step 4. Select Uninstall and then select Uninstall All to confirm.

Once the game is uninstalled, reinstall Hello Neighbor 2 again.
