However, it’s important to realize just how different the Apple Watch and Galaxy Watch are from each other — they run on entirely different operating systems and have completely different styles. So if you’re looking to purchase either smartwatch, but aren’t sure what the big differences are, be sure to follow along below, as we’re pitting the two against each other. Find out which one wins!
Galaxy Watch
The Samsung Galaxy Watch is first up on our list, and is probably the most stylish smartwatch out there right now, even beating the Apple Watch Series 4. If you’re a professional, this one will replace your traditional timepiece just fine. It comes with a fairly nice strap already, but you can swap it out with your own custom one as well.
The Galaxy Watch actually doesn’t run on Android Wear, but on Samsung’s own Tizen OS. That said, the Galaxy Watch is only going to work if you own a Samsung smartphone. It won’t work with other phones like the LG V40 ThinQ or Pixel 3 — you have to have a Galaxy smartphone, whether that be a Note 9, Galaxy S9, Note 8, Galaxy S8, etc.
The Galaxy Watch does have a ton of apps that you can download to extend its features, but when you’re done using this professionally, you can take the Galaxy Watch out as a “sport” watch. It can easily track your steps, heart rate, distance ran, calories burned, and more.
Battery life is actually fairly impressive in this smartphone. You should have no problem making it last two days off of a single charge, but that does depend on how much screen usage you get out of this one. It can be used independently from a smartphone, so you can even use this one for hands-free calls and text messages. It’s a great overall experience at round $300.

Apple Watch Series 4
Next up, we’re looking at the Apple Watch Series 4. This is an excellent and high quality smartwatch that Apple recently launched. It’s fairly stylish, but we wouldn’t say that it’s the most attractive. Apple’s smartwatches are actually really large, and they’re all in a square shape. In that sense, the Galaxy Watch is a little more stylish looking than what Apple has to offer. Like the Galaxy Watch, you can swap out your bands for your own custom options.
The downside to the Apple Watch is that they only work with the iPhone. You can’t purchase a Series 4 and then try and pair it up with an Android smartphone.
The Apple Watch Series 4 actually has a lot of awesome features inside of it. If you choose a cellular model, you can use this one independent of your iPhone. Aside from that, there’s some awesome step tracking, calories burned, distance traveled, and other “sport” features in the watch. You can download an app to use it for sleep tracking, and there’s even a heart rate monitor inside. One neat, exclusive feature that the Apple Watch Series 4 has is the ability to detect “falls.” If you fall, as in because of a health problem, the Apple Watch is able to automatically dial 911.
It has some really good battery life as well, lasting around the same as a Galaxy Watch — you should easily be able to get two days out of a single charge.

Comparison
Both the Galaxy Watch and Apple Watch Series 4 are two different smartwatches, but we would say that the Galaxy Watch beats the Apple Watch Series 4. For one, it’s more stylish with its circular design — it looks more like your traditional timepiece this way.
The Galaxy Watch is also a little more affordable than the Apple Watch. Not only that, but it’s a versatile platform — you can use it with other Android smartphones (i.e. other than Galaxy phones) and even with the iPhone, if you so choose.
Verdict
The Apple Watch Series 4 is a great smartwatch for those that have an iPhone, but it just isn’t cross compatible with Android devices. That’s why the Galaxy Watch takes the cake here!
