Galaxy A55 Leak Reveals High-End Looks and Power for Less

New renders have leaked showing the design of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy A55 mid-range smartphone. The images, posted by reputable leakers OnLeaks and MySmartPrice, reveal a device with a strikingly similar aesthetic to the higher-end Galaxy S24 that is expected next year.

Most notably, the Galaxy A55 has adopted the flattened edges and polished metal frame of the S24 family. This gives it a sleek, premium look that stands out from its predecessor, the plastic-clad A54. The back is also flattened compared to the A54 and features the same vertical triple camera array reminiscent of flagship Galaxy devices.

However, a unique design addition comes in the form of a raised platform on the right side of the A55 surrounding the power and volume buttons. The purpose of this 0.6mm protrusion is unknown, but it adds some flair and may improve grip and durability. The rest of the edges appear bare like on the S24 models, with a SIM slot relocated to the top.

In terms of size, leaked dimensions peg the Galaxy A55 at 161.1 x 77.3 x 8.2mm or 161.1 x 77.9 x 8.2mm counting the side button bump. The display is marginally enlarged from the A54 at 6.5 inches while retaining Samsung’s hole-punch front camera and silky 120Hz refresh rate panel.

Internally, the Exynos 1480 chip manufactured by Samsung powers the smartphone along with 8GB RAM and 128/256GB storage configurations. A generous 5,000mAh battery supports 25W fast charging through the expected USB-C port. Camera capabilities also impress with a 50MP primary shooter, 12MP ultrawide lens, 5MP macro sensor, and 32MP selfie cam.

With premium style, ample power, great displays, and versatile photography, the leaks indicate Samsung plans to position the Galaxy A55 as a standout mid-range model when it likely debuts this spring. Of course, details could change before launch, but the renders provide an exciting sneak peek at Samsung’s vision for its next affordable flagship phone.
