Amazon Prime Day 2019 was a hit, beats Black Friday & Cyber Monday records combined

Amazon’s Prime Day seems to have been a smashing success, beating Black Friday and Cyber Monday numbers combined.

Prime Day shoppers, shoppers who only have Amazon Prime subscriptions, bought more than 175 million items combined. That’s a substantial amount more than Black Friday and Cyber Monday combined.

Amazon isn’t releasing details on actual sales figures right now, but you can imagine that they’re pretty good, shipping more items than those two holidays. The online retailer giant did say that Prime Day shoppers saved more than $1 billion on products, and over $2 billion of products purchased were from small businesses.

Electronics were obviously the biggest success, but sold more Fire devices than they ever have in a single day. July 15 and 16 were days that Amazon also saw the most Prime member sign-ups.

If you want to save money on your favorite products, keep an eye out for Black Friday and Cyber Monday later this year, or for Prime Day around this time next year.
