Released in October of 2016, this model has remarkable features which consumers are excited about. It’s build quality is impressive since it uses an aluminum body that has a MIL-STD-810G shock resistance. Audiophiles will also love the fact that this phone has a Quad DAC feature which makes it great for playing music. Although a lot of people are using this phone as their daily driver there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the LG V20 gets stuck in Verizon logo issue & other related problems.

LG V20 Gets Stuck In Verizon Logo
Problem: My LG 20 suddenly stopped booting completely. It will turn on but won’t go past the loading screen. Specifically it goes to the Verizon logo with the loading dots. I don’t want to hard reset without getting my photos off of it. I’ve checked the sticker on the inside for water damage and it’s still white with pink x’s so I have no idea what could be causing the issue. I have removed the battery several times and the same thing occurs.
Solution: If a factory reset is not an option then what you should do first in this case is to perform a battery pull.
- Remove the battery cover by pressing the back cover release button (on the lower-left edge) then pull the cover off.
- From the notch in lower edge of the battery compartment, lift and remove the battery.
- Press and hold the power button for at least a minute.
- Reinsert the battery by aligning the battery contacts with the contacts in the device then press the battery into position.
- Align the cover and press it into place.
Turn on your phone then check if the issue is resolved.
You can also try to start the phone in Safe Mode to check if an app you downloaded is causing the problem. To start the phone in Safe Mode follow the steps listed below.
- Press and hold the Volume Down button and the Power button until the System recovery screen is displayed then release both buttons.
- Select Safe mode.
- The device starts up with Safe mode displayed in the lower left.
If the phone starts in this mode then you can backup your phone data and at the same time find out what app is causing the problem and uninstall it.
In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
LG V20 vs Moto G Plus 5th Edition
Problem: Hello, I’m tempted to get a bargain LG V20, because I love it’s big screen, powerful hardware and all niceties that brings aside I’ve heard that is very repairable, but I’m not sure if I will get a buggy device because all that bootloop stories and bad history of LG flagship devices. What do you think? Would you recommend it over a Moto G+ 5th? Thanks in advance for your advice.
Solution: In terms of hardware specifications and performance I would choose the LG V20. The latest software update that is available for the phone has already addressed most of the bugs found in the older software version that the device ran on.
Lg V20 Stuck In LG Lifes Good. Powered by Android Screen
Problem: When I attempt to turn the phone on, it simply flashes the intro of “LG Lifes Good. Powered by Android” over and over and over. I have tried everything. When I try to plug the phone in (it had battery life), the battery gets obscenely hot. I do not know what to do at this point.
Solution: The first thing that you should do in this case is to check if the phone can start in Safe Mode. If it can then the issue might be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. In case the issue persists even in Safe Mode then you will need to do a factory reset using the hardware keys. Take note that this procedure will erase your phone data.
- Press and hold the Power and Volume down buttons.
- Once the LG logo appears, quickly release and then re-hold the Power button while continuing to hold the Volume down button.
- When “Factory data reset” appears, use the Volume down button to highlight Yes.
- Press the Power button to confirm.
- When prompted to “Erase all user data and restore default settings,” use the Volume down button to highlight Yes.
- Press the Power button to reset the device.
If the problem persists then I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
LG V20 Not Charging When Connected To USB Port
Problem: Phone allows ‘quick charging’ when connected to the wall unit but depletes if charged through computer or car USB. Any suggestions on how to charge when not able to access wall charge?
Solution: Try cleaning the charging port of the phone first using a can of compressed air making sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in the port. Check if you can now charge the phone from a USB port. If the issue still occurs then try using different charging cords. If the problem can’t be fixed then it’s possible that a pin in the charging port that’s responsible for USB charging might be faulty. If this is the case then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
LG V20 Stock Gallery App Opens Randomly
Problem: I have an LG V20 and at night, the stock photo gallery app opens automatically, numerous times. I close it and shortly after, it opens again. It seems to only happen at night. Any idea how to fix it?
Solution: Try to check if a glitch in the app is causing this problem by clearing the cache and data of the gallery app from the application manager. If the issue persists then the next step is to check if the problem occurs when the phone is started in Safe Mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
LG V20 Has Bent Battery Contact Pin
Problem: my lg v20 has a bent/disconnected pin in the battery compartment, what can be done? Is this a manufacturer defect considering this is the first time I’ve ever removed the battery. This was discovered when the phone screen would not turn on.
Solution: Is it possible to push the pin back to its original position? If not then you will have to bring this phone to a service center and have it checked.
LG V20 Call Goes Straight to Voicemail
Problem: Using a Mint SIM, for whatever reason, when a call comes into my LG V20 H990DS, the call app displays for about a second and then it refuses the call automatically causing it to go straight to voicemail. If I place the Mint SIM into another phone, I can receive calls. Previously, I used a T-Mobile SIM without any issue making or receiving calls or text messages. Customer support at Mint SIM has no answer.
Solution: You should check if the call forwarding feature of your phone is activated and routing your calls to your voicemail.
- Tap the Phone icon.
- Select the Menu icon.
- Select Call settings.
- Select More.
- Scroll to and select Additional settings.
- Select Call forwarding.
- Select Always forward.
- Make sure that this setting is Off
If the issue still persist then I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
