S6 Edge Freezes Takes Too Long To Reboot

Problem: My s6 edge first just used to reboot itself now it freezes and when I reboot it it doesn’t turn on until sometimes maybe an hour but sometimes after a full day. And if it does turn on it does for an hour or two if I’m lucky and freezes and the same process again. I think it’s the battery because it froze on 40-50% today and didn’t turn on for a few hours and it started charging again from 0% and then it froze again after forty five mins I just don’t want to waste money on a new battery when it’s a different issue. Any idea on if it is the battery or not? I e tried to turn on holding all the keys in every combination Thanks

Solution: What you should do first in this case is to check if a glitch in the phone software is causing the problem. To do this you have to perform the following troubleshooting steps listed below. Check if the issue still occurs after performing a step and if it does proceed to the next one.

  • First, check if an app you installed is causing this problem by starting the phone in Safe Mode. When the phone is running in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to start. If the problem does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by one of the apps you installed. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then this is most likely a hardware related issue already. We are still not sure at this stage if the battery is causing the problem since it could also be caused by an internal component that is failing to work. You can try having the battery replaced however the best thing to do right now is to have your phone checked at a service center so that the exact cause of this problem can be pinpointed.

S6 Edge Turned Off Does Not Turn Back On

Problem: My S6 edge is about 2 months old. Out of the blue it turned off. I tried charging it with the original fast charger and it wont turn on nor will it charge. Completely dead. I tried charging other samsung devices with the charger and it works fine. What could it be? Please help.

Solution: To fix this problem you will need to make sure that the battery has sufficient charge to turn on the phone. Follow the troubleshooting steps listed below to do this.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone making sure that any dirt or debris stuck in the port is removed.
  • Try charging your phone using a different charging cord.
  • Try charging your phone using a different wall charger.
  • Check if your phone charger from a computer USB port.

If your phone charges then you should try turning it on.

If the phone does not charge then one more thing you can do is to simulate a battery pull. This is done by pressing and holding both the power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. You phone should reboot after this.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Not Turning On After Charging

Problem: Hi I am having probñems with my Samsung Galaxy s6 edge I had put it to charge on this Thursday and when I grabbed it so I can Turn on it didn’t Turn on anymore even though I had put it to charge & it had 48% I tried to turn it on but it just didn’t Turn on no more. Can you Help me with my phone please.

Solution: Since you mentioned that the phone still had a 48% battery life before you charged it then what you will want to do right now is to perform a simulated battery pull. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. If it doesn’t then try charging your phone again for at least 20 minutes then repeat the procedure again.

If you are not getting any charging indication from your phone then perform the following steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air.
  • Try charging the phone using a different charging cord.
  • Try charging your phone using a different wall charger.
  • Try charging your phone from a computer USB port.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Randomly Turned Off

Problem: I’ve had my phone for almost two years with no soft/hardware problems. But this morning, I placed it down for a few minutes, then when I pressed the home button, it randomly shut off. It was at 30 percent when I laid it down. Now, I’m not even able to turn it on. I’ve never had this issue before, and I need to know what happened to see whether or not it needs to be professionally fixed.

Solution: You should first try simulating a battery pull by pressing and holding both the power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. If your phone does not reboot then you will need to charge your phone for at least 20 minutes. When charging the phone follow the steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone first using a can of compressed air.
  • Charge your phone using its original charger.
  • If there is no charging indication from your phone try replacing the charging cord then the wall charger.
  • Check if the phone charges from a computer USB port.

Should the above steps fail to fix the problem then this could already be a hardware related issue which needs to be checked at a service center.

S6 Edge Very Difficult To Charge

Problem: very difficult to get it to charge . has just taken me an hour to get it charging. charger works fine on my tablet and my wife’s phone so not a charger issue . tried in safe mode , no luck . performed a full hard reset , no luck . after messing with it for like an hour i’ve got it charging . however it still fails to charge most of the time . could it need a new charging port ?

Solution: This could already be caused by an issue with the charging port. Try cleaning this port first using a can of compressed air. If the issue persists you need to have the port checked at a service center.

S6 Edge Data Recovery After Water Damage

Problem: My phone was submerged in water. I took it to a local repair shop and the technician informed me it won’t boot. The chip is damaged. Can the data be recovered? Since the data can’t be transferred, maybe relocating parts onto a new board would work.

Solution: You could remove the eMMC chip of the phone and place it on another motherboard however this will require some special tools to perform.  Recovering your data is not assured when performing this step since we are still not sure if the eMMC chip of the phone ( the part where the data is stored) has been water damaged.
