S7 Text Messages Have Wrong Time Stamp

Problem:  My Samsung messages app is really wrong my text messages in the wrong order because the wrong time is shown for me receiving messages is showing earlier times for receiving the messages but my messages being sent is up with the current time I’ll send a message at 4:00 pm and above it will show my friend or family member’s message being sent at 2:42 pm so how do I fix it or do I need customer service’s help?

Related Problem: when I send  a text message it appears on my screen. Then when the response comes in , it goes to the person I sent it to but not below my text, it goes to their last response. so it is not coming and going in proper order??  Please help as this is very annoying. Thank you for  your prompt response on how to fix this matter

Solution: This issue not only occurs on the S7 but on other Android smartphones as well. The main reason why this is happening is because the time set on the device is not synchronized with your carrier network time. What you need to do in this case is go to the time and date settings of the phone then make sure that it acquires the time and date automatically from the network. Once this is done you should not be getting any wrong time stamps anymore.

In case the problem still persists even after performing the step listed above then you should proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clear the cache and data of the text messaging app.
  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. Are you experiencing the same issue in this mode? If not then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S7 Receiving Duplicate Text Messages

Problem: I am receiving duplicate texts from certain people. I took screenshots. The first text comes in as a full text and the second one comes on as separate messages.

Related Problem: Solution: When your phone is receiving multiple copies of the same text message the problem is most likely caused by a networks issue. In most cases this happens when the signal is spotty or weak. You should however try to troubleshoot the phone to check if the device is causing the problem by following the steps listed below.

  • Restart your phone. This will reset the phone connection to the network and will usually fix the problem.
  • Clear the cache and data of the text messaging app from the application manager.
  • Try to check if an app you downloaded is causing the problem by starting the phone in Safe Mode. Does the problem occur in this mode? If it doesn’t then it could be caused by a downloaded app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S7 Not Sending Text Message

Problem: I have always been able to send text messages of any length. In the last few days I’ve been able to type as much as I want but when sending it just spins and says sending but never does.

Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this case is to check if the phone is getting a strong signal from the network. Sometimes if the signal is weak then you will be unable to send out a text message. Once you have made sure that the signal is strong then the next step is to verify with your carrier if you have an active text messaging subscription. There have been instances when people do a lot of troubleshooting ending to find out that the problem is account related so it’s best to get this out of the way early in the troubleshooting process.

Once you have performed the steps listed above and the issue still persists then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Restart your phone. This will reset your phone’s connection to the network which usually fixes the problem.
  • Check if your phone is using the correct message center number. This number is needed to successfully send out text messages. To access this setting open the Messages app then tap on More. From here tap on Settings then tap on More settings. Tap on Messages then tap on Message Center.
  • Clear the cache and data of the text messaging app.
  • Start your phone in Safe Mode. If you are able to send a text message in this mode then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S7 Text Message Screen Is All White

Problem: Hi. One day i let my son play with my phone. I did not notice anything out of the ordinary afterwards. Until the following day. I realized my text messages screen (the screen where it shows all your texts) is all white. It was not like that before. I tried to fix it but I have no idea how. I have to click on a message to see who is it from or guess who it is from. Help??

Solution: Try clearing the cache and data of the text messaging app from the application manager to fix this problem. If this doesn’t work then try to check if the message preview is enabled by following the steps listed below.

  • Go to Settings
  • Browse for Applications and select on Messages
  • Select on Notifications
  • Go to the section called Preview Message
  • You’ll find two boxes, one with “Lock Screen” and the other saying “Status Bar”. Make sure both are checked.

If the issue remains try restarting your phone and if this doesn’t work you should consider doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

S7 Not Receiving Text Message

Problem: My girlfriend just got a Samsung Galaxy s7, she can send text messages but can’t receive them. The ONLY one that she can send and receive is from me. Everyone else she can send but not receive.

Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this case is to check if certain numbers are placed in the block list.

  • Go into Messages, then tap on “More” in the top right corner and select Settings
  • Tap on Block messages
  • Tap on Block list
  • Make sure that the numbers you can’t receive messages from is not part of your block list

If you are still not receiving any text messages then perform the following troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Restart your phone. Sometimes the phone just needs to be refreshed in order for it to receive text messages.
  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. If the problem does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Clear the cache and data of the text messaging app from the application manager.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the issue still occurs even after performing the steps listed above then you should contact your carrier regarding this matter.

S7 Not Inserting Spaces Between Words

Problem: My galaxy 7 phone used to insert spacing between words when I would tap on the words. About a week ago it stopped doing that. What happened?

Solution: This might just be a setting related concern. Go to your phone Settings – Language & input – Samsung Keyboard. Make sure that Auto Space is enabled.
