Note 4 Stuck In T-Mobile Startup Screen

Problem: Hi my note 4 won’t start up I have researched the issue . at first it wouldn’t turn on after taking out the battery and holding the power button on for 1-2 minutes and inserting the battery . The phone does turn on but it will not proceed after the t-mobile sign shows up it just stays at dark screen the blue light is does display and blinks like it’s loading something. then it never advances from there i only wait about 2 minutes should i wait a little longer i have tried to restore to factory settings using the volume key power and home method but it does not restore successful

Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? Try removing this card as it might be causing the problem. If the issue still persist or if your phone does not have a microSD card then follow the troubleshooting steps listed below. After performing a step check if the issue still occurs and if it does proceed to the next step.

  • Connect your phone to its wall charger. Make sure that the charging indicator is present. Turn on your phone. If it turns on normally then the problem could be caused by a faulty battery in which case you should try to replace the battery with a new one.
  • Start the phone in recovery mode then wipe its cache partition.
  • Start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

If the issue still persist then you should consider flashing your phone with its updated stock firmware file. You can get this file from the Sammobile website where instructions are also provided on the proper way to flash your phone.

Note 4 Only Shows Startup Screen After Software Update

Problem: my galaxy note 4 did a automatic update by itself now when i turn on the  phone its only show the Samsung start up and vibrates 4 to 5 times and wont go any further did not have this problem before please help

Solution: The first thing that you should do in this particular case is to turn off the phone then remove the battery and microSD card ( if the phone has one installed). Press and hold the power button for at least a minute. Reinsert just the battery then turn on the phone. Does the issue still occur? If it does then do the following troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Check if the phone starts when it is connected to its charger. If it does then the problem could be caused by a faulty battery. Replace this battery with a new one.
  • Try wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

If the above steps don’t fix the problem then it’s possible that the software update might have bricked your phone. If this is the case then you will have to flash your phone with its updated firmware file. Instructions on how to flash your phone as well as the firmware file itself are available at the Sammobile website.

Note 4 Not Waking Up From Sleep After Marshmallow Update

Problem: Since the Marshmallow update of last year my Note 4 will go to sleep and not wake up, this seems a common problem and I have done all the things suggested except revert back to 5.1.1 which worked without issue. Somehow thought it was not possible to revert back to a previous version and I don’t have a backup of previous version. I use now a wakelock app to keep phone from sleeping but this is only a bandaid which also runs the battery down quicker than should be. I want a real solution which seems that more testing should have been done with Note 4s and Android 6.0.1

Solution: Whenever issues occur right after a software update the most likely culprit is old software data that has not been completely removed. This old data causes a conflict with the new software version resulting in issues such as the one you are experiencing with your device right now. What you should do first to troubleshoot this problem is to try wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode first. If this doesn’t fix the problem then backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the issue persists then I suggest you manually flash the updated stock firmware file of your phone.

Note 4 Snapchat Freezes And Stops Responding

Problem: I have purchased a few months used Galaxy note 4 few weeks ago. Everything is working fine. All the apps are running smoothly except Snapchat . It sometimes freezes and stops responding . The battery gets too hot at times as well and battery shuts down completely at 15 % at times . Plz help

Solution: It’s possible that the battery is getting hot because the Snapchat app has a problem. Try clearing the cache and data of Snapchat from the application manager then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then I suggest that you uninstall the app. Before installing a fresh version from the Google Play Store  you need to check if the battery problem still occurs. If it does then replace this battery with a new one. Proceed with installing a fresh version of the Snapchat app.

Note 4 Screen Goes Black When Using Snapchat

Problem: So I have a note 4 and when I use Snapchat it works fine for the first 10 mins but when I got to see the featured stories my phone screen goes black but Snapchat is still running in the background as sound in playing. When I scroll from top to bottom I can tell them I’m exiting the story. I’m forced to rest the app and open it again but the same problem happens

Solution: You should try clearing the cache and data of the Snapchat app from the application manager. If the issue still occurs after this then uninstall the app and download a fresh version from the Google Play Store.

Note 4 Vibration Not Working After Software Update

Problem: Did a samsung software update 2 weeks ago and just 4 days ago I noticed my vibration does not work no more not even any trouble shoot will fix this, call t-mobile customers service none would help a ticket was created last night. So I spent hours researching and looks like other people been going through the same problems as well hoping this get resolved.

Solution: For this particular problem you will need to manually check if the vibration motor of the phone is working by accessing the hidden menu of the phone. You can access this menu by dialling *#0*# from the keypad. A screen should popup with various buttons. Click on the vibration button to check if the vibrate function works. If it doesn’t then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked. If it works then the problem could just be caused by a software glitch. Restart your phone.

Check if the vibration function of your phone is activated.

  • Tap the Settings icon.
  • Tap Sounds and notifications.
  • Tap to adjust the sliders to change the intensity levels, then tap OK.
  • Tap to check or uncheck Vibrate when ringing.
  • The vibration settings are now set.

If the issue still occurs even with the correct settings then I recommend you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
