S6 Screen Is Unresponsive Not Working

Problem: My screen is unresponsive to my touch. I didn’t drop when I came back to grab my phone on my bed it was unresponsive and it still is. It simply won’t let me do anything. I can still turn on the phone but my screen won’t work so I can’t power it off.

Related Problem: Hello! The entire touch screen as well as both buttons on both sides of the home button completely doesn’t work . I have rebooted it ,turned it off , pushed the up-and-down & home screen and power button all at once multiple times nothing is seeming to work .now it says setup wizard welcome but I can’t use my touchscreen at all ..sooo I can’t even try that…don’t know what to do I haven’t even had this phone for 2 years and it is in perfect condition…please help! Thanks

Solution: The first thing that you should do in this case is to simulate a battery pull by pressing and holding the power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. If the screen is still unresponsive then you should try starting the phone in Safe Mode. From here you can check if an app you downloaded is causing the problem since only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run when the phone is started in this mode. If the issue does not occur in this mode then you should find out what app is causing the problem and uninstall it.

If the problem still occurs even when the phone is started in Safe Mode then start the phone in recovery mode and do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

Should the above steps fail to fix the problem then it’s very likely that the phone has a damaged digitizer. You will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Screen Has Dark Color And Is Unresponsive

Problem: i was using my phone normally and then most of the screen suddenly went a darker colour and is now unresponsive executing for the buttons and the very top of the screen, as in, i can pull the notifications bar to see my notifications but that’s it.

Solution: Try to check if the issue occurs when the phone is started in Safe Mode. If the problem does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. If the problem occurs even in Safe Mode then the next thing to do is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

Should the above steps fail to fix the problem then the phone might have a damaged display. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.

S6 Screen Is Frozen

Problem: My Samsung galaxy s6 screen is frozen. I cannot access anything on the phone. I have tried to do a soft restart, hard restart and “clear cache partition”. I have been able to get to safe mode but cannot access anything because my screen is unresponsive. What else can I do? Is a factory reset the only option? I can’t backup my pictures because my touchscreen is unresponsive, so I know that I will lose all of my pictures if I do a factory reset.

Solution: Right now your only option is a factory reset from the recovery mode. You should check if you can backup your phone data first using Smart Switch before doing the reset. If the reset fails to work then the problem could be caused by a damaged digitizer. I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have this checked.

S6 Screen Is Black Due To Drop

Problem: dropped my samsung s6 on my work top screen down when i picked it up the screen was smashed around the ear piece where the camera is i cannot see anything as  the screen is black but i still get calls come through and can answer by sliding screen as normal just cannot see nothin

Solution: Since the display is already physically damaged the best thing that you can do right now is to have the display assembly replaced at a service center.

S6 Screen Color Off After Phone Got Wet

Problem: I dropped my phone in water causing it to shut off, I regrettably turned it on to assess the damage. I quickly dried it off and then put in into a bowl of rice to dry later I turned it on and the phone seems to work fine the only issue is that the screens brightness, saturation, etc are slightly off. Should I Just keep it in rice and wait or would I need to get my screen repaired?

Solution: You should try placing your phone in a bag of rice first for at least 48 hours. This will remove the moisture inside the phone. If the screen still has a problem after this then you should have this phone checked at a service center.

S6 Is Lagging

Problem: Hi, My Samsung Galaxy S6 is lagging on touches etc. as my recent and back buttons are constantly flashing, they seem to interrupt my presses and make the phone difficult to use. It can sometimes stop and let the phone work perfectly but recently its been constant. Also, any apps to turn off the buttons’ lights work but still keep the phones lag etc.. Thanks for any help you could give me.

Solution: You should start the troubleshooting by checking if the issue occurs when the phone is started in Safe Mode. If it doesn’t occur in this mode then it is most likely caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. If the issue occurs in Safe Mode then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. If the issue persists then you should have your phone checked at a service center.

S6 Recent Apps Keep Popping Up

Problem: My “recent apps” is continuously popping up on my screen as if it’s being constantly pressed. If i leave my phone untouched but unlocked and set it down, I can see the screen flip back and forth from recent apps to the home screen. I’ve wiped it clean, restarted, and wiped underneath and in between the cracks To no avail thanks for any help

Related Problem: I have a sprint galaxy s6. Dropped it a few times. Got wet a few times. Anywho. For the past 6 months my recent tabs and back button won’t stop flashing. When this happens can hardly use screen and can drain a 100% battery in 45 mins. Now my phone is overheating really bad

Solution: Follow the same troubleshooting steps as the one we have addressed above. Start the phone in Safe Mode and if the issue does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you installed. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. If the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then do a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

If the issue still occurs after performing the steps listed above then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
