Note 4 Stuck In Samsung Logo After Software Update

Problem: Hey I have a problem with my Samsung note 4. I just updated it and when it restarted to turn back on it wouldn’t turn on to a home screen. It just started pulsing with the samsung logo on the screen until the battery died. I charged the battery and turned it on and it went back to the Samsung pulsing until battery died again. Do you have any advice? Many thanks

Solution:  Some glitch might have occurred during the update process causing this issue. Listed below are some of the recommended troubleshooting steps that you should perform for this type of problem.

  • Remove the battery and microSD card ( if you have one installed). Press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This will discharge the phone circuit and clear out its RAM. Reinsert just the battery then check if the phone turns on.
  • Try wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should consider doing a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that this will erase your phone data. If this still fails to work then you should manually flash your phone with its updated firmware file. Instructions on how to flash your phone can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.

Note 4 Slow And Crashes Since Software Update

Problem: Hello, I have been having trouble with my Note 4 since I updated the OS. My phone has become incredibly slow and has begun crashing more often than before. I have tried removing some of the apps that I no longer use, but this has had no impact on the speed of the phone. I have also tried a soft reset on the phone, yet still no change. What else can I do to solve this problem?

Solution: If this issue happened after a software update then you should try checking if any of your apps need updating. The apps in your phone might not be optimized for the new software yet. Open the Google Play Store then go to the “My apps & games” section. From here you will see a list of apps that needs to be updated. Try updating them then check if the issue still occurs.

Another factor that can cause this problem is a rogue third party app installed in your phone. To check if this is the case try starting the phone in Safe Mode then check if it is slow or crashes in this mode. If it doesn’t then the problem could be caused by an app you installed. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

You should also check if a corrupted microSD card is causing the problem by removing the card from your phone ( only applicable if you have one installed).

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then try wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. Should the issue still persist after this then I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

Note 4 is Sluggish

Problem: Hi – since about 2 weeks (last auto update was Jan 17 2017) the phone UI is very sluggish. Sometimes it hangs & seems to lock up. The screen can’t be swiped and the two bottom hard buttons seem inoperable. Sometimes after tapping the back button two or three times the phone does a restart. I have a  Samsung Memory 128GB EVO Plus MicroSDXC UHS-I Grade 1 Class 10 Memory  SD card installed with the apps that ‘App2SD card’ indicated can be moved to SD card.   The phone is quite unstable.

Solution:  There are several factors that you should eliminate which could potentially cause this particular issue. Listed below are the troubleshooting steps that you need to do.

  • Try eliminating any microSD card issues first by removing the card then check if the issue still occurs. If the problem disappears then you should try formatting the card or replace it with a new one.
  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. Does the issue occur in this mode? If it doesn’t then the problem could be caused by an app. Try updating all of your phone apps. If the apps are already updated but the problem still occurs then find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Try wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should consider doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

Note 4 Unlocked Won’t Update

Problem: I bought a Note 4 unlocked. It was previously a Verizon phone. It won’t update beyond 5.1. My question is if I put a Verizon SIM card in it in order to access the update does the SIM have to be active? Or will any old Verizon micro SIM allow it to update?

Solution: You will need an active Verizon SIM card inserted into the phone to update the phone software. Alternatively, you can try connecting the phone to a computer with Kies or Smart Switch running then let the software update the phone.

Note 4 Not Updating

Problem: Hi, i’ve a note 4 910 A from att , i live in another country(ecuador) and currently my phone is running Android 5.0 and it says that it’s updated, but I know that 6.0 has been out for a while , my build # is n910Aucu1coc4 and don’t know why it does not update, i’m currently in another Carrier .

Solution: The main reason why the phone software will not update is because it is running on a different network. There are also other possible reasons why this issue is happening which we have listed below.

  • The phone is rooted
  • The phone is running on a custom software.

To update your phone try backing up your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete connect your phone to a computer with Kies or Smart Switch running then let the software update the device.

If the above steps fail then you should consider manually flashing the updated firmware file to your phone. Instructions on how to flash your device can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.

How do i get it to stop freezing up, How do i get to stay on all day?

Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then try removing it as this might be causing the problem. If your phone doesn’t have a microSD card or if the issue still occurs even after removing the microSD card then follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. Does the problem still occur? If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from recovery mode.
  • Consider doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.
