Note 4 Screen Starts To Dim

Problem: Hi! So my galaxy note 4 screen has just started to dim. It almost dims to a really white color with a yellow tint to it. I have taken the battery out and nothing. It also is not allowing me to go to my messages or any of my apps. Once I unlock my phone and click on one it goes black and almost seems to freeze up. Any idea of what could help. It’d be much appreciated. My phone is one year old and no marks on the screen.

Solution: What you will need to do first in this case is to check if the problem is caused by a glitch in the phone software. To do this you need to follow the troubleshooting steps listed below. Move to the next step should the problem still occur after performing one step.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. When the phone works in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run making it easier for you to check if the problem is caused by an app you downloaded. If the issue does not occur in this mode then you should find out the third party app that could be causing this issue and uninstall it.
  • Backup your phone data and do a factory reset,

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then this might already be caused by a faulty display controller or display assembly. If this is the case then I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Screen Is Black Only Buzzes

Problem: I tried all the methods that were suggested in your troubleshooting guide called “How to fix Galaxy Note 4 that won’t turn on.” However, these attempt were to no avail. When I push the power button on my phone, it only buzzes, the display on my phone doesn’t light up like it’s supposed to. Please tell me there is a better solution than going to my cell phone provider and spending a great deal of money in order to get it fixed. Thank you.

Solution: If you have already performed all of our recommended troubleshooting steps for this particular issue then this could already be caused by a problem with the phone hardware. To pinpoint the exact cause of the problem I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.

Note 4 Screen Is Flickering

Problem: Screen Flickering, Changing colors when put on a lock screen – turning into black screen after that. Then will go auto restart and back to screen flickering. It only stops when i turn it off and let it rest for around 10 or more minutes. I just changed the Battery but the problem still exists.

Solution: What you should do in this case is to check if a glitch in the phone software is causing the problem. To do this I recommend that you backup your phone data and do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete don’t install anything in your phone just yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then you need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked as this is most likely a hardware related problem already.

Note 4 Screen Is Black But Touch Works

Problem: Hi… so I dropped my note 4 and the creek has a thin crack..the display is always black but the touch still works and I can hear the sound it makes when u click on the screen the usual “bloop” sound..can I fix this problem at home?

Solution: It’s very likely that the screen is damaged but digitizer of the phone is still working. To check if this is the case you should try starting the phone in recovery mode. If the display works in recovery mode then this issue might be caused by a software glitch. You will need to do a factory reset in this mode. Take note that the reset will delete your phone data.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Screen Not Working Unless Battery Is Removed

Problem: When I switch on my note 4 it boots normally and I can use it but once light times out then pressing the power or home button can not on the light until the battery is removed and put back again. Please help

Solution: You will need to check if the phone software is causing this issue by doing the steps listed below.

  • Check if the issue occurs in Safe Mode. If it doesn’t then an app you downloaded might be causing the problem. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Start the phone in recovery mode then wipe its cache partition. This will delete the temporary system data which might be causing the problem.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Black Screen After Replacing Phone Frame

Problem: hello. i did try to change the middle frame of my samsung galaxy note 4 with success. however without damaging the lcd it appears that the LCD doesn’t display so i get the black screen. the phone starts and i can hear it taking my facebook messages and the led lights up. the lcd connector is in place and the stylus as well. i heard them clicking on the motherboard. well my question is the following. Does the lcd needs replacement or it might be the motherboard causing the problem?

Solution: You will need to check the connection between the display and the board as it might be loose. If the connection isn’t the problem then you should try replacing the phone display.

Note 4 Screen Is Very Dark

Problem: Hi, I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 that has always worked well for the most part.  It’s had a couple of issues lately one of which was that the phone was charged but shut down overnight but once I charged it, it was fine for several weeks.  Now this morning overnight my phone screen has gone very dark so I am unable to read it other than texting.    I tried turning it off for awhile and turning it back on and there was no difference.  Do you have any suggestions as to how I can fix this?

Solution: What you can do right now is to try checking if the issue occurs when the phone is started in recovery mode. If the screen works in this mode then the problem could be caused by a glitch in the phone software. You will need to backup your phone data and do a factory reset,

If the issue still occurs even in recovery mode then you need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
