Note 4 Shut Off Constantly When Taking A Picture

Problem: My phone shuts off constantly, it could be up to 99 percent and shuts off. I’ve cleaned cache, apps, it seems to happen almost every time I try and take a picture. I pay so much insurance and monthly cost to Sprint. However they will not help unless given more cashola. My screen is def shattered n can’t pay 200 to get another from sprint so i how i may find some help here with the issue. Thank you.

Solution: If your phone shuts off when taking a picture the problem could be caused by three factors. It could be caused by a glitch in the phone software, a faulty battery, or a malfunctioning internal component.

What you need to do first in this case is to check if something wrong with the phone software is causing the problem by following the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. This is a great way to check if an app you downloaded is causing the problem. Check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by a third party app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If after performing the reset the problem still remains then try getting a new battery for your phone. If this fails then it’s likely that this is already caused by a malfunctioning internal component. If this is the case then I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Not Charging When Power Is On

Problem: Hi there. My phone didn’t charge when power is on, in off mode a grey charging icon appears and disappears by continuously vibrating every 2 seconds. This began one day before my wife’s Galaxy Note 4 has the same issue. Thats making me running mad, maybe there is a system of Samsung to struggle customers, i don’t know. Because these are two different devices and identical problem, started at near same day. We use different charger devices, we replaced battery, made hard-, soft reset, brought it down to factory defaults by clearing cache too. Nothing helps. Charging on the car didn’t help. Connecting to pc is impossible, it didn’t work anymore. I bought it from united kingdom over ebay, this seller wrote down that this is an import from usa. I have searched a lot of forums and videos to solve my problem. But it didn’t work. One hope is the inductive recharge kit i ordered. But anyway, i want to write this here to you possible to get a chance to fix, or alerts others may they have the same issue.

Solution: Since troubleshooting the software of the phone doesn’t seem to fix the problem then this could already be caused by a hardware issue. Try to check if the phone charging port has some dirt or debris in it. If necessary clean this port using a can of compressed air. If the problem persists then you should have your phone checked at a service center.

Note 4 Keeps On Restarting

Problem: my Note 4, which I received from AT&T as replacement for an iPhone DECEMBER (2015) is constantly restarting..and not coming up to the lock screen.  just keep seeing ANDROID and such. HELP. Soft restarted, did the vol key down and power and home button reset…still does it.

Solution: For this particular issue you should first take out the phone battery and microSD card ( if you have one installed). Press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This will erase your phone data and clear out its RAM. Reinsert just the battery ( leave the microSD out first) then try to turn on your phone. If it still keeps on restarting then try connecting your phone to its charger then turn on the device. If the problem doesn’t occur then it could be caused by a faulty battery. You will have to replace the phone battery if this is the case.

If the problem still occurs even when the phone is connected to a charger then the next step is to start the phone in recovery mode. While the phone is in this mode there are two things that you can do.

  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode. This will erase the temporary system data of your phone.
  • Do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy.

One last troubleshooting steps that you should consider is to flash the phone software with it stock firmware file. Instructions on how to do this can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.

Should the above steps fail to work then you should have your phone checked at a service center.

Note 4 Fast Charging Not Working

Problem: a few days ago my fast charging stopped working on my Note 4. I’ve tried different fast chargers with the same result. it will slowly charge if I let it sit and do nothing. If it is hooked to the fast charge the battery will slowly drain otherwise. The battery was replaced a couple of months ago. I’ve tried everything suggested. I am ready to move back to apple if I can’t fix this.

Solution: Is the replacement battery an official Samsung product? If it is made by a third party vendor then it could be causing the problem. Try replacing this battery with a new one.

The other troubleshooting steps that you can do for this particular issue are as follows.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris that’s stuck in this port.
  • Make sure to enable the fast charging option of your phone from Settings- Power Saving.
  • Try using a different charging cord and fast charger.
  • Verify if the problem is caused by a glitch in the phone software by backing up your phone data then doing a factory reset.

If the problem still occurs even after performing the steps listed above then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Battery Power Fluctuates

Problem: Hi, I just wanted to address a problem that I have been experiencing for quite a while now, at 18% my note 4 shuts down completely then when I turn it back on it goes all the way down to 4% then eventually 0, I have done a factory reset and also replaced the battery but still happens, could this be that the ic power needs replacing?

Solution:  If replacing the battery and doing a factory reset fails to fix this issue then the problem could be caused by an internal component that is failing to work, possibly the power IC. I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked if this is the case.

Note 4 Won’t Stay On

Problem: My galaxy note 4 won’t stay on at all. At first it would stay on while charging but now it won’t even charge, if I’m lucky I’ll be able to turn it on but as soon as I enter my password it turns off. A few weeks ago I dropped my phone on it’s back the it would turn off abruptly after hitting any  type of surface, then I would just be careful with it but now it just doesn’t turn on. Could this just be from a bad battery or i it a bigger problem?

Solution: This could be caused by a bad battery. Try replacing this with a new one then see if the phone turns on. If it doesn’t then this could already be caused by a faulty internal component. If this is the case then you should have this checked at a service center.

Note 4 Freezes And Overheats

Problem: Hello. My phone was water damaged around 2 months ago. It was at night and my phone was connected to the charger and it rained on my phone. I put it in rice for a day and it worked fine, but the charger wasn’t working at all. I took it to a repair store and they said it will never work so I have to charge my batteries instead. Now, 2 months later, my phone is overheating and restarting, the screen doesn’t work respond and freezes and it overheats. I tried restarting it but it’s not working.

Solution: It’s very likely that water might have affected some of the internal components of your phone possibly the display. You should try doing a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that this will erase your phone data so do this if you already have a backup copy of your data.

If the reset fails to fix the problem then I suggest that you bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Randomly Goes Black

Problem: When i am using my phone it randomly goes black as in won’t do anything not even turn on. To get it to work i have to either plug in my charger or take the battery out and put it back in. This ised to happen occasionally (1 or 2 times a month) but now happens at least 8 to 10 times a day. I have tried doing a factory reset cleared the cache and ram and everything like that. I make sure i close apps and tabs when on my phone so it’s not the ram and my battery is securely in place so it’s not that. It’s mostly using certain apps but is now happening with more and more apps.

Solution: If a factory reset fails to fix this problem then it is most likely caused by a component inside the phone that is failing to work. You should bring your phone to a service center that’s capable of doing board level repairs and have it checked.

Note 4 Turns Off With Battery Power Left

Problem: For the past 6 months or so my note 4 has been turning itself off at 50, 60 and even 80% battery and then keeps trying to turn itself back on This morning I turned it on and it lasted about 2 minutes and turned off , its showed no sign of life since! Any ideas? Thanks

Solution: You should try replacing the battery as sometimes a faulty battery can cause this kind of issue. If after using a new battery the problem still occurs then try to check if your phone is able to start in recovery mode. If the phone starts in this mode then I recommend you do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy before doing this.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then this  could already be caused by a faulty internal component. Bring your phone to a service center and have this checked.
