Note 4 Update Fails To Install

Problem: I have a note 4 n910a at&t us model. running lollipop 5.1.1 last version from march 2016 I’m missing now 6 updates because every update since hasn’t installed correctly without saying update failed. also my lte no longer works either. really needing help I have odin 3.11 on my pc I have been digging for files but can’t find the proper ones, and also don’t want to skip updates and mess up the whole process. please help!!

Solution: If the update doesn’t install correctly then I recommend that you try to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete try to download the update again then check if it will now install. If it doesn’t then try connecting your phone using a USB cord to a computer with Kies or Smart Switch running. Use the software to update your device.

If the update still won’t install then now’s the time to consider using Odin. Make sure to download your phone’s updated firmware file from Sammobile for example and flash this file to your phone. Instructions on how to flash your device can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.

Note 4 Unable To Update Software

Problem: i recently purchased a note 4 and i realise when i got home that it was running android version 5.1.1 and so instinctively i try to update the version but i get error message: “unable to update software. A network or server error occurred. try again later”

Solution: To be able to successfully get the official update for your phone make sure that it isn’t rooted and it isn’t running on a custom software. If your phone meets these conditions and it is still not getting any update then try the following steps listed below.

  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
  • Try to update your phone using the OTA method.
  • Try to update your phone by using Kies or Smart Switch.

Iff this issue is related to a network server problem then try waiting for 24 hours before checking for the update again.

Should the above steps fail then you should consider flashing the updated firmware file to your phone. Instructions on how to do this can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.

Note 4 No Service

Problem: My Note 4 N910C , no signal, no service though i put the sim in the slot, I try to upgrade both new modem or bootloader version. I try many way to fix this problem.. Please advise how can i do. Now i use the  rom version 6.0.1 and Now i downgrade the rom to 5.1.1.. its still same… no service I do hope you will help me fix this problem. Thank you very much

Solution: Have you tried using another SIM card in your phone? This is to verify if the SIM is causing the issue. If the problem still persists then this could be caused by a faulty SIM slot or internal component. I suggest that you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Gallery Not Working After Software Update

Problem: Hi. After latest upgrade my note 4 is not letting me use my gallery or send pictures to people, or download them from the internet. It say’s that I have to go to settings, but when I do it’s impossible to turn buttons on, every button is off.

Solution: Since this issue occured right after a software update then it’s possible that old software data that hasn’t been completely removed is causing this problem. If this is the case then I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

Note 4 Locks Up Fails To Restart

Problem: The phone sometimes locks up and wont restart for several ie more than 5 -10 minutes. Even after battery removal. Even when turning off after operational state closing phone often fails to restart It sometimes gives message with green man saying it is downloading software but never seems to complete this.

Solution: The first thing that you should do in this case is to check if a corrupt phone software is causing the problem by doing a factory reset. Take note that this will delete your phone data so make sure to make a backup copy first. Once the reset is complete do not install anything in your device just yet. Instead, try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then there could be another factor that’s causing this problem.

  • Try checking if the issue occurs when your phone is connected to its charger. If it doesn’t then this could be a power related issue that can be resolved by replacing the battery with a new one.
  • Try flashing your phone with its updated stock firmware file. Instructions on how to do this can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.

If the above steps don’t work then I suggest you have your phone checked at a service center as this could be a hardware related problem already.

Note 4 Unfortunately Bluetooth Share Has Stopped

Problem: I being having problems with my phone; it would pop a error message saying Unfortunately the Bluetooth share has stopped, it wont last 2 seconds after I press ok to pop again it’s frustrating. This starting to happen after the last update.

Solution: Try unpairing your phone with the other device then pair it again. If the issue persists then there’s a possibility that it is caused by sme form of old system software that got left behind during the update. I suggest you do a factory reset to fix this problem. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

Note 4 Shuts Down When Taking Pictures With Flash

Problem: My issue just started when I’m taking pictures & only when using a flash after the 2nd one it will shut down.  Also, I’m having trouble uploading pictures to facebook.  After the 3rd one the gallery goes black and will not come back until I back out of it.  It is charged anywhere from 80-90% when this happens or any other time.  I have taken the battery out, I have wiped the cache partition and nothing has resolved it.  This just started happening in the last 3 weeks.  I have it a year and half.

Solution: In most cases where the phone shuts down when using the camera flash the battery is usually the culprit. Your phone battery might not be able to provide the required power to battery intensive apps and services which is why your phone will shut down. Try replacing the battery with a new one then see if the issue gets fixed. If it doesn’t then try doing a factory reset as sometimes a software glitch can also cause this problem. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

Note 4 No Update Available

Problem: I have samsung galaxy note 4 n910f and whenever I go to system updates and press on update now to check for the marshmallow update it does not open. My phone is running 5.1.1.

Solution: To be able to get the system update you have to make sure that your phone isn’t rooted and isn’t running on a custom firmware. Your phone should also be running on its original network so that you will be able to access the update from the network servers.

If your phone meets the conditions listed above and your phone still can;t detect an update then you should backup your phone data and do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete try to update your phone using the OTA method or by using either Kies or Smart Switch.
