Samsung’s Galaxy S10+ is here, and one of the things that everybody wants to know about is the new virtual reality technology inside. There’s been some, but not too many improvements to it; this is because manufacturers are slowing moving away from smartphone-powered VR, and simply offering consumers all-in-one VR headsets that simply pair with your phone via an app. That’s the same story for the Galaxy S10+.

That said, we’re going to show you a mix of different virtual reality products for the Galaxy S10+. Virtual reality is on its way out
Okay, maybe not entirely. However, virtual reality for mobile platforms hasn’t caught on nearly as well as brands had hoped. Samsung has pretty much told consumers to not expect another virtual reality headset; however, Samsung hasn’t stopped supporting the virtual reality technology yet. At least for the time being, existing Gear VR headsets will work with the Samsung Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+.
A Samsung spokesperson told The Verge that:
“Yes, the latest model Gear VR will work. Gear VR comes with an adapter that will work with S10.”
You need an adapter to make it work, just as the spokesperson said above. However, Samsung is making it much easier than the Galaxy Note 9 — this time, the Korean tech giant is actually including an adapter in the box with the Gear VR. With the Galaxy Note 9, you had to contact Samsung and they would then mail you one.

Lenovo Mirage Solo
The Lenovo Mirage Solo comes in as second on our list, and is easily one of our favorite way to use virtual reality. It doesn’t require a smartphone to sit in the headset, actually. Just download the Mirage Solo app on your Galaxy S10 Plus, and then pair it up with the virtual reality headset. After that, you’re ready to roll in Google’s world of Daydream VR. Just put the VR headset on, power it on, and you’re good to go.
Now, there is a con that comes with the all in one headset — you’re getting some pretty poor battery life. That said, your VR time will be drastically reduced to just a couple of hours of use off of a single charge. You will have to power it down and throw it on the charger for awhile to use again.

Daydream View
Enter, the Daydream View. With the Daydream View, you’ll always have the best seat in the house. And we mean that literally! Google’s platform puts you front and center to all of the latest virtual reality games and entertainment. Entertainment is actually a big thing for the Daydream View — Google’s virtual reality platform has some really big partnerships, such as Hulu and Netflix, that are bringing awesome VR content to the headset.
On the other side of the spectrum, the Daydream View isn’t an all in one headset — you do have to set your phone inside of the headset to act as the power and screen behind it.

Gear VR With Controller
In fourth place on our countdown is the Gear VR with Controller. Made directly from Samsung, this should work pretty well witth the Galaxy S10 Plus. The nice thing about this one is that it is equipped with a controller, which can give you better navigation.
Using the Gear VR is easy — all you have to do is throw your Galaxy S10 Plus into the Gear VR insert, and you’re ready to start downloading and experiencing all the great content available in virtual reality. The Gear VR has been through quite a few renditions now, so the 2017 model actually feels very comfortable. It’s not too weighty, making it easy to play for hours at a time. On top of that, we’re big fans of the sleek, Stealth Black finish — it blends nicely with the S10 Plus.

VeeR Oasis
And coming in as last up, we have the VeeR Oasis. Moving away from independent virtual reality, the VeeR Oasis is similar to the Daydream View in that you have to put your smartphone in the slot to use the virtual reality. That said, this one only costs you a couple of bucks since all of the VR power comes from your phone. With great weight distribution, you’ll be able to use this headset for hours without too much discomfort.

Verdict
As you can see, there are a lot of excellent virtual reality headsets for the Galaxy S10 Plus. If you’re looking for the best virtual reality experience, definitely go with a Gear VR or Daydream option. Those work best with the Galaxy S10 Plus, though we think the Daydream platform has a whole lot more content than what you can find on the Gear VR.
