The #Yahoo Mail application for #Android has received a major update today, which will appeal to a lot of #Gmail users. Well, the app has finally received support for Gmail mailboxes, giving Yahoo Mail users the ability to access their Gmail account without having to switch the app. Frankly, it’s a little surprising that the mail account didn’t support Gmail by default, but better late than never, right?.
Outlook and AOL accounts are already supported by Yahoo Mail, so the addition of Gmail will go nicely with the app. The changes will make its way to users with the 5.1.0 version of Yahoo Mail. You can find the entire change log below:
- Connect Gmail mailboxes to read, organize, search and respond to your Gmail messages within the Yahoo Mail app
- Select all messages in a specific folder on your device – just tap on the select all icon in the upper-left corner when moving or deleting multiple messages
- Interface improvements for account switching, settings, touch targets, and message list readability
- TalkBack accessibility improvements
- Performance enhancements
The update should be live for existing users although you can manually navigate to the Play Store to check for an update that way.
