The Xiaomi Mi Note Pro is the company’s most powerful smartphone yet

Along with the Mi Note, Xiaomi has also taken the wraps off the Mi Note Pro smartphone packing a high end specs sheet which could take on even the most powerful devices in the market today. The smartphone isn’t expected to break cover until later this year though, so for the time being the focus will be on the Mi Note.

The Mi Note Pro is Xiaomi’s first handset to pack a Quad HD 2K resolution display, which in a 5.7 inch panel produces a pixel density of 515 ppi. It also comes with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa core SoC, so it’s pretty future proof as far as hardware is concerned.

Other specs of the smartphone include 64GB of internal storage, 4GB of RAM and the same set of cameras from the Mi Note (13-megapixel sensor with OIS on the back and a 4-megapixel front camera). The 3,090 mAh battery on the device is a little concerning for most users given the sort of power it’s supposed to eat up.

The Mi Note Pro will be available for pre order on the 20th January with availability slated to commence a week later on the 27th, much like the Mi Note. The device will set customers back by 3,299 CNY ($532) when it launches later this month. The Mi Note Pro is a solid competitor to the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and the LG G3, although its availability is only limited to China and surrounding regions.
