U.S. wireless carriers confirm impending arrival of Samsung Galaxy S IV

The newly-released Samsung Galaxy S IV is, without a doubt, one of the most hotly-anticipated smartphones this year, so it comes to no surprise that many mobile carriers in the United States will sell it. Nonetheless, a confirmation from these companies is always a reassurance that Samsung’s Android flagship handset will indeed be available in the near future.


Among the wireless carriers that have already made announcements are Sprint, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, and AT&T have all released confirmations, along with the regional carriers US Cellular and Cricket.

The United States version of the Samsung Galaxy S IV comes with a Super AMOLED display measuring 4.99 inches, a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, and a pixel density of 441ppi. It also packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 APQ8064T Quad-core Krait 300 processor with a clock speed of 1.9Ghz, Adreno 320 GPU, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB of internal storage. Expansion through a microSD card is possible via a built-in slot.

Furthermore, the device draws its power from a 9.88Wh battery, and supports GSM, HSPA, and LTE Micro-SIM networks. The connectivity options available are Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, dual-band Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, A-GPS, and GLONASS. It also offers MHL 2, USB host, and DLNA Infrared blaster.

It is worth noting that the United States version of the S IV has some differences with the international version, which comes with a Samsung Exynos 5 Octa Quad-core A15 (1.6GHz) + Quad-core A7 (1.2GHz) processor and the 3-core, 533Mhz PowerVR SGX 544MP3 GPU.

Meanwhile, its other notable features are Air Gesture, Smart Scroll, Smart Pause, Adapt Display, Eraser, Sound & Shot, S Translator, S Health, Samsung Knox, Samsung HomeSync, Smart Swithc, Samsung Hub, Group Play, IR Sensor, and a new version of ChatON.

As of the moment, there is no official price yet for the Samsung Galaxy S IV.
