Note 4 Text Message Does Not Send
Problem: My texting doesn’t send it just does the loading thing before it sends an then it says failed so I shut it off 6 to 10 times a day just to get it to send even in apps I use a couples app for my boyfriend and I an it acts up.. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling apps I don’t have a launcher.. also the sound goes in and out when music is playing I’ve never dropped it.. it’s always in a case.. I’ve replaced my phone once.. it also deletes my text randomly and there no where to be found.
Solution: Since you are using a third party messaging app try to switch back to the stock messaging app first and see if this resolves the problem. If your message sends out fine on the stock messaging app then the problem could be with the third party messaging app you are using.
If you would like to continue using this third party app then try clearing its cache and data first as the app may have some corrupt temporary data that is causing this problem. If the problem is still not resolved then uninstall the app and download a fresh version from the Google Play Store.
However, when you use the stock messaging app and you still experience the same issue then you need to check your network first. Is your phone getting a good signal? Sometimes if the phone has only 1 bar of signal sending a text message can be quite difficult. Try checking if the issue occurs in a single area or in other areas as well. If it only happens in one area then this may be a signal related issue.
If the network signal is good then proceed with troubleshooting the phone software. The first thing you need to do is to wipe the cache partition of your phone. This clears out the temporary data in your device. If the problem persists then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Note 4 Freezing When Sending Text Messages
Problem: version 4.4.2 Kernel. When texting with one particular person, it is verrry slow and sometimes freezes. I was told it was because too many texts were stored. So, I am trying to delete some, but I do not want to delete the whole thing. As I select some messages and want to delete, it most often says that “”texting has stopped”” (my phone is French). I tried plugging my phone to my computer, it does the same. what are my options? Thanks!
Solution: Too many text messages stored in your phone is one possible reason why sending a text message is slow and sometimes freezes. Since you are encountering an error message when you try to delete some of your messages what you can do right now is to clear the cache and data of your phone’s messaging app. This eliminates the temporary data of the app which may already be corrupt and causing the app to unexpectedly stop. Once you have cleared the cache and data of the app then proceed with deleting your messages.
If the problem still persists then try to wipe the cache partition of your phone. This clears out the temporary data that is stored by your phone operating system.
If at this point you are still experiencing the same problem then I suggest you backup your phone data and do a factory reset.
Note 4 Not Getting Group Text With iPhone Users
Problem: Text messaging can be a pain in the ass especially with iphones. The groups messages especially. I get texts in random order, or not at all and then it doesnt allow me to scroll up to read them if people keep texting within that group message. This is a very important issue to me. I just got the note 4 a few months ago as a previous long time iphone user. It alsl doesnt allow me to send text messages withing a group text if the group text is larger then 10 contacts. This is 2015…thats rediculous. I may go back…especially if the text messaging issues arent fixed.
Solution: Since your previous phone was an iPhone then some of the messages sent to you may be going to your iMessage. You need to deregister from the iMessage service. If you still have access to your iPhone then remove the SIM card from your Note 4 and insert it in your iPhone. On your iPhone home screen select settings then go to messages. Set the iMessage switch to off. Remove your SIM card and insert it back to you Note 4. If you don’t have access to your iPhone anymore then you need to deregister your number from the Apple website.
Once you have deregistered from iMessage check your group messages and see if you get them correctly this time.
Regarding the 10 person group chat limit this appears to be a carrier restriction. One way around this is to try to use some of the third party messaging apps on available on the Google Play Store that allows you to group text to more than 10 people. You should also consider using the Hangouts app on your phone.
Note 4 Not Getting Text Message Notification
Problem: In the past, when using the default messaging app, with each text message you received, you would get a notification letting you know of the new message arrival. It seems that after the first Lollipop upgrade, we no longer get notified unless we get completely our of the messaging app or our phone goes into its sleep or standby mode. If you leave the messaging app open, you have to constantly be checking for new messages or you will miss them and cannot respond in a timely manner. This issue or new feature seriously sucks!. So I ask, is there a fix to get back my continual message notifications?
Solution: Try to check for a new software update available for your phone. This is a known issue and has been resolved by the latest phone update. If your phone is already running on the latest update then I suggest you backup your phone data and do a factory reset.
Note 4 Text Messages Disappearing
Problem: My messages disappear, says no messages, I reboot the phone messages reappear happens frequently but not all the time
Solution: Several owners of this phone have been complaining about their text messages disappearing. In your case though the messages appear again after a reboot. This issue may be caused by a corrupt temporary data in your messaging app. If this is the case then you need to clear the cache and data of your messaging app. Follow this up by wiping the cache partition of your phone.
Try to check if the issue still persists. If it does then check if it is caused by a third party app installed in your phone by starting your device in Safe Mode. Once in Safe mode observe your phone and check if the problem still persists. If it doesn’t then it may be caused by an app installed in your phone. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
If your messages still disappear even in Safe Mode then I suggest you backup your phone data and do a factory reset.
Note 4 Cannot Send Or Receive MMS
Problem: I am unable to send or receive mms. I can text ok ok but no pics go through. I am on sprint. I have restarted, soft reset to no avail.
Solution: There are three things that you need to check in this type of issue. First, you have to make sure that you have an active mobile data subscription. Second, you have to make sure that the mobile data switch of your phone is turned on. Third, you need to make sure that the APN settings of your phone matches the one that your network is using. If it is different then make the necessary changes.
