There won’t be any new Android Wear watches from Huawei, LG or Motorola this year

Huawei Watch

The likes of #Huawei, #LG and #Motorola have made some very appealing smartwatches in the Android Wear segment. A new report is now suggesting that we might not be seeing any more of their wearables this year. The reasoning for this is multi-faceted, but perhaps the companies are looking to change the release cycle of their wearables from the end of the year to early in the year. This means that we might get to see some wearables by February or March next year.

Motorola believes that the sacrifices necessary to have a fully cellular smartwatch are just not worth it, while Huawei is apparently waiting for the CPUs to become more efficient and the components to shrink in size, so as to have more room to play around with. LG, on the other hand, has already released the Watch Urbane¬†2nd Edition with LTE earlier this year, so it probably doesn’t see the need to have another watch this early in the day.

There are wearables coming from the likes of Fossil and Michael Kors, however, so interested customers are not going to be short on choices.
