ASUS Transformer AiO Showcased at CES With Jelly Bean

Remember the ASUS Transformer AiO (All-in-One)? It was showcased in June at Computex 2012. It’s a 18.4-inch Windows powered tablet, but when you go mobile it serves as an 18.4-inch Android powered tablet. When ASUS originally introduced the tablet, it was running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Today when ASUS had the massive tablet on display at CES 2013, many noticed that the tablet had been updated to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. This is no shocker considering that most of ASUS’ Transformer lineup received the update to Jelly Bean.

The Transformer AiO is running a third generation Intel Core processor and a quad-core NVIDIA Tegra CPU. As mentioned above, the screen comes in at 18.4-inches and has an HD IPS display. Pricing and availability remains unknown. As a personal estimate, and considering it’s running Android and Windows 8, there’s no doubt that we’ll at the very least be looking at $750 or even $1000 considering Microsoft’s own Surface tablet sells around that much.

For those of you wondering, the tablet gets hooked up to the Windows 8 docking station and the transformation form Android to Windows is a simple touch of a button. I doubt that the Windows 8 docking station is required to switch in-between OS’ though. I’d imagine that the dock is just a nice accessory to have considering how massive the tablet is.

The AiO definitely looks interesting and I can foresee many cool things being done with this bad boy. It’s almost guaranteed that someone will carve a 18.4-inch space out of there desks and embed the tablet in that space while giving it the proper support. Watch it happen.

Hopefully we’ll hear official pricing and availability information at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next month.
