MWC: ZTE Releases Four Multi Core Android Tablets

This is definitely the year for ZTE. We aren’t quite sure yet if they’ve “stolen the show” but they are darn close. In fact China as a whole may have stolen the show between the combined efforts of ZTE and rival Huawei.

In addition to the data products and Android phones ZTE has announced at MWC, they’ve also introduced four new Android tablets. The ZTE PF 100, ZTE T98, ZTE V96 and the ZTE V9S.

The ZTE PF100 is the first of two quad-core tablets. This tablet is powered by Nvidia’s Tegra 3 processor. In addition it has Nvidia’s Icera 450 HSPA modem on board. The Icera modem is optimized for better network performance and better battery life. It features a 10.1″ WXGA display, 1GB of RAM and 16gb of onboard storage.

The ZTE T98 is the other quad-core beast. This is a 7″ tablet and at the moment the first 7″ tablet introduced at MWC with Nvidia’s Tegra 3 processor. Everything else, aside from the screen size, is the same as the PF100.

Apparently ZTE, and not one of the bigger named OEM’s, has the first Nvidia Tegra 3 (Kal-El) processor onboard an Android tablet.¬† The Tegra 3 processor is a quintuplet core processor consisting of four main cores and a fifth “companion core” to handle background computing, webpage loading and to assist in video and music playback.
