Sony Xperia Z1S ‘Amami’ spotted at the FCC with pentaband HSPA support

Xperia Z1S

Xperia Z1SThe much rumored Sony Xperia Z1S (known as the Xperia Z1 f in Japan) has just made its way to the FCC under the Sony ‘Amami’ moniker. As the Xperia Z1 was known as the Honami in its early days, it’s only fitting that its smaller sibling is known by a similar name. The listing reveals that the smartphone carries support for pentaband HSPA and eight LTE bands (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8 and 20). The images that are shown off with the listing bear resemblance to the Xperia Z1 f which pretty much confirms that this is indeed the Xperia Z1S.

As this is solely an FCC listing and not an official unveiling, we’re yet to learn about specific details. CES is the most likely place for an announcement as it is only a few weeks away from now and Sony has launched smartphones during the event consecutively over the last two years. Sony’s CES keynote is scheduled for the 6th of January, so we can expect to learn more on that day. The Xperia Z1S is rumored to feature a 4.3 inch 720p display, a 20.7MP camera, a 2.2 GHz Snapdragon 800 chip, 2GB of RAM, 16 of storage with a microSD card slot, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and a 2,300 mAh battery.
