S9 Intermittent Charging

Problem: I have a Samsung Galaxy S9 and I’m having a problem with charging my phone with the lightning charger. When I start charging my phone a few minutes later when it’s idle it continuously wakes itself up as if I just plugged the charger in. It will make the sound it makes when I first plug in the charger to my phone. The screen stays lit up so I press the button on the right side of my phone to make the screen go back to black so it will charge fast but again the screen lights up and makes the sound you hear when you first plug in the charger to the phone and then it starts charging slow because the screen stays lit up. This has been happening for a few weeks now since one of the updates from a few months ago. So I thought maybe it’s the charger so I got a new Samsung lighting charger and I still have the same issue. It constantly does this until the battery finally reaches about 93% and then it stops doing it and the screen stays black. Can you please help me with this?

Solution: Try cleaning the charging port of the phone since dirt or debris stuck in this port could be causing the problem. The best way to clean this port is by using a can of compressed air. Once the port has been cleaned try charging it again. If the issue still persists the next step is to check if the issue is caused by a software glitch. Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Check if the issue still occurs after the reset. If it does then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component already.

S9 Charging Connects Then Disconnects

Problem: The problem is my phone or my charger? – My phone S9 won’t charge using my cable ( sometimes it charges but when i move it a bit , it disconnect. Sometimes it won’t charge at all) , but i tried to charge my sister’s phone using my cable and it charges. I tried charging my phone  using another cable and it charges. I tried using my cable and my fast charging powerbank, on my phone it says cable charging but on my sister’s phone it says fast charging help im so confused.

Solution: Whenever this issue occurs it is most likely caused by a faulty charging cord. You should try using a new charging cord on your phone then check if the issue still occurs. Another factor that can cause this problem is the presence of dirt in the charging port of the phone. If this is the case you will need to clean the port using a can of compressed air.

S9 Will Not Fast Charge

Solution: For this issue you should make sure that the fast charging option of the phone is turned on.

  • From the Home screen, swipe up or down to access the Apps screen.
  • Tap Settings.

S9 Stuck On Bootloop

Problem: My phone is looping between a black screen and showing the home (date & time) screen every 10 secs or so. I can not turn the phone off. I have done the soft reboot numerous time, no change. Reading thru your website, I made it to a blue screen which says downloading…do not turn off target. Please help, the phone is hot also. I’m traveling thru Morocco and may not find a reputable android store.

Solution: For this particular issue you will have to remove the microSD card of the phone if you have one installed. You should also make sure that the phone battery has sufficient charge before proceeding with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Try starting the phone in Safe Mode. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Try wiping the cache partition of the phone for the recovery mode.
  • Start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

If the issue still persists then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S9+ Stuck In Bootloop After Software Update

Problem: After an  update to upgrade my Samsung S9 plus it got stuck in a reboot loop. It would not power down and would often get stuck at the Samsung logo – sometimes the logo would not finish – it would get half way displaying it and then freeze up. So I tried the soft reset and now everything is worse. I have tried every kind of reset I can find: Forced Reboot, Safe mode, Master reset  – all of them. The phone is totally unresponsive. It won’t even display a light when you plug a charger in! Current state of the device: Totally black. No LED’s, no display. It’s as if the battery has been internally disconnected. How on earth do I fix that? Is it basically a bin job? The phone was working fine until the last update – there were no issues with the phone at all and it had more than 50% battery power.

Solution: The first thing that you can do right now is to make sure that the battery has sufficient charge by following the steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a wall charger.
  • If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also try charging the phone from a computer USB port.

Once the phone has sufficient charge try doing a soft reset. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. If it doesn’t then check if you are able to access the recovery mode. From here I suggest that you do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S9+ Moisture Detected Error

Problem: My new samsung galaxy s9+, has never gotten wet. I have additional case that covers the ports, but regardless I’ve not gotten it wet, the charger is suddenly stating that the charging port is wet. I’ve physical double checked, ran paper strips around the terminal contact, and comes up dry. Is there a way to fix this.?

Solution: When this error message appears on your phone the first thing you will need to do is to make sure that the charging port of the phone is dry by using a mini vacuum or hair dryer on it. In case it is already dry and free from any moisture but then the error message still appears then this could be caused by a software glitch. Try restarting the phone then check if the same issue still occurs. If it does then you will need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S9+ Will Not Fast Charge

Problem: Hi, I have an S9+  that will not “fast charge” it charges but it will take about 6 to 8 hours to be fully charged. I read and tried all of your tips. I don’t know what to do, this is the second phone I’ve owned, I really love this phone.

Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this case is to make sure that the fast charge setting of the phone is enabled.

  • Open Settings app.
  • Tap Device maintenance.
  • Tap Battery.
  • Tap More options at the upper right (three-dot icon).
  • Tap Advanced settings.
  • To turn on Fast cable charging, touch the slider.

Once this setting is enable proceed with cleaning the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then try using a different charging cord and adaptive fast charger.

In case the issue still persists then proceed with the additional troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it’s very likely that you have downloaded an app that is causing this problem. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone just yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you need to have this checked at a service center.

One of the best features of the #Samsung #Galaxy #S9 is that there are various ways to charge the phone. This can be done with a wired charger or a wireless  charger. Both methods work quite well and will let the battery have a 100% charge from 0% in less than 2 hours. S9 Battery Drains Fast After Software Update

Problem: I have a Samsung Galaxy S9   and it’s always worked great. A couple of days ago, though, I had an update on it one night and the next morning the phone would not wirelessly charge. I’d never had that issue and researched online and saw that others had experienced the same issue. I could possibly live with that but in addition the battery started dying super fast, even when I wasn’t actively doing anything with the phone. It goes from 100% charged to 0% in a couple of hours of it is not powered off or plugged in. Today, I got the battery replaced at an authorized Samsung Repair facility and with the new battery, it’s doing the same thing, which sucks as that was $75. Anyway, I factory reset it in Hope’s that it might make a difference but it still behaves the same. I’m now convinced more than ever that it’s the update but don’t know what else to do. Can you help? Should I try to rollback the update and if so, what’s the easiest way?

Solution: If you have already replaced the battery and performed a factory reset but then the battery of the phone still drains quite fast then it’s very likely that this is caused by a faulty hardware component. Does your phone heat up a lot? If it does then there might be a component that is shorted. When this happens the phone will use up a considerable amount of battery life.

There’s also the possibility that a damaged microSD card is causing this problem. If you have a card installed then I recommend removing it.

In case the issue persists then you should have the phone repaired at a service center.

S9 Will Not Fast Charge

Problem: Hi, my S9 won’t fast charge anymore since last update or am not sure if that is the reason. Also pc does not recognize my device anymore. Tried all cable and wireless charging options in local mobile and repair shop but in vain. What should I do to fix it.

Solution: Try cleaning the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air as dirt or debris stuck in this port might be causing the problem. In case the issue persists then backup your phone data and do a factory reset. This way you will be able to check if a software glitch is causing the problem.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then I suggest that you have this checked at a service center.

S9 Stuck On Samsung Screen

Problem: I have a samsung galaxy s9, I accidentally deleted some photos and attempted to recover them with a computer software , this was taking a very long time and I needed by phone so disconnected the phone from computer thinking I would just do it later.  The phone will no longer start I have tried rebooting using the power/volume down button and this appears to work however the phone just gets stuck on the samsung screen and stays like that until the phone goes flat??

Solution: It looks like the phone software might have become corrupted due to the sudden disconnection from the computer. The best thing that you can do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode then from here wipe the cache partition of the device. Follow this up with a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

S9 Randomly Disconnects From Charger

Problem: After using phone with charging cable attached, after a few cycles (3 or 4) the phone stops charging and slowly discharges as you are using it. Ugh! Cables and USB charger ok. I have found that doing a “restart” rather than a “shut down” will sometimes start it charging again. However, if you don’t notice this discharge problem in time, you could wake up in the morning with a dead phone. Frustrating. Any ideas on what is causing this problem?

Solution: Have you tried using a different charging cord and wall charger to charge the phone? If you have and the issue still occurs then try cleaning the charging port using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris that could be present in this port. I also recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset to eliminate the possibility of this being caused by a software glitch.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should have this checked at a service center.
