The #Samsung #Galaxy #S9 is one of the two latest flagship models released by the South Korean company this year. This phone is easily distinguishable by its smaller 5.8 inch Super AMOLED display when compared to the large S8+ model. Under the hood is the latest Snapdragon 845 / Exynos 9810 processor and 4GB of RAM which is powerful enough to allow multiple apps to run smoothly. Although this is a solid performing phone there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. S9 Is Unresponsive After Latest Software Update
Problem: After the recent software update (last week) everything has been not responsive. When in the gallery going through videos, I cannot play the videos. All it shows is “file not found” when clicking play. Also some when entering some setting features the page crashes and sends me to the home screen. As well on messenger, whenever I try to share a photo the screen comes up grey with a punctuation mark and no photos. Much more issues but those are the main ones I have question on.
Solution: It looks like this issue is caused by a software glitch. Try restarting your phone first as this will usually fix the problem. In case the issue still persists then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Check if the issue occurs when the microSD card of the phone is removed. This will only apply if you have a microSD card installed. If the issue does not occur then it could be caused by a corrupt microSD card.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode. Restart your phone then check if the issue still occurs.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
S9 Screen Unresponsive After Getting Wet
Problem: Hi, my Samsung s9 fell into toilet on weekend. I retrieved it quickly and dried it. It worked for while then I left it overnight. In morning it was off so I turned it on and tried to enter my encrypt code but keyboard wouldn’t work nor the middle home button… I have insurance on phone, screen smashed just after purchasing and was replaced through insurance. I’m happy sending off but have photos etc in there that haven’t saved to my memory card that I really don’t want to lose… is any way to fix phone myself or at least get my photos off? They won’t transfer to laptop due to encryption…thank you
Solution: Although this is a waterproof phone there is still the possibility of water getting into the device which I suspect is causing this problem. The first thing that you need to do in this particular case is to wipe the phone using a microfiber cloth until it is dry. Next, place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside the phone. After 48 hours have passed try checking if the issue still occurs. If you need to charge the phone due to the battery running low on power then you should do this first. In case the issue still persists then you should have this checked at a service center.
