S9+ Randomly Turning Off

Problem: Recently received a new Samsung Galaxy S9 plus. The phone is turning off and is difficult to turn back on. The issue has been there since day 1, about 10 days. I have to plug the charger in and wait a few minutes when the charging symbol appears. I have to hold down the power button to turn it on, which may take a couple of times. It seems to be happening when there is no activity on the phone, such as checking emails or sending text messages ,Etc, like overnight. It seemed ok during the week when I was using it for work. I don’t use a SD micro card in the phone. I even tried to keep the screen alive all the time but it still happen. Any help, thanks.

Solution: You need to check first if the problem is caused by one of the apps you installed. To do this just start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. When your phone works in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. If the problem does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by one of the apps in your phone. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then you should backup your phone data then start the phone in recovery mode. From here do the steps listed below.

  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone.
  • Do a factory reset.

Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S9+ Freezes When Connected To Charger

Problem: When I plug in charger on my phone the volume goes erratic. It then freezes up. I have done soft reset, hard reset, even cleaned the charging plug inside, even changed charger. Still will not charge without powering down multiple times. I even wiped the cache partition. Still freezes when I plug in charger

Solution: Since you have already performed the recommended troubleshooting step for this problem then this looks like it is caused by a faulty hardware component already. My guess is that a component inside the phone gets shorted whenever the charger is connected which then results in the phone freezing. The best thing you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S9+ Moisture Detected In Charging Port

Problem: My phone keep saying there is water or moisture in my charge port when I go to plug my charger in and there is no moisture anywhere. In fact it was charging last night and I accidentally unplugged the Box and suddenly when I plug the Box in it says there’s moisture in the port. It’s just very random and there is absolutely no liquid anywhere near my phone or charger.

Solution: Just to make sure that there really is no moisture in the charging port you should use a mini vacuum or a hair dryer to remove any traces of moisture in the port. Once this is done try to check if the issue still occurs. If it does then this might just be caused by a software glitch which can be fixed by performing the steps listed below.

  • Perform a soft reset by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Check if the issue still occurs when the phone starts.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S9+ Stuck On Installing Updates Screen

Problem: Hi my galaxy S9+ run out of charging and when it was connected to charger didn’t pick up charging and after that it started installing update then it showed no command sign it was still connected to charger. After sometime it started coming on and off again and again showing installing updates but still it is not turning on it’s been one hour now please help

S9+ Turns Off Randomly

Problem: I got my Samsung galaxy S9+, 7 weeks ago, this is the 2nd time it turns off completely at 80% battery, I reboot it , it turns on then it turns off right away. I charge it 100% then it turns on and works fine. I deleted some apps, which I don’t have that many. I also make sure to put to sleep the apps, delete messages and calls. What could be wrong?

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to check if the problem is caused buy a software glitch by following the troubleshooting steps listed below. After performing a step immediately check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will need to proceed to the next step.

  • Remove the microSD card of the phone.
  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. Does the issue occur in this mode? If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S9+ Freezes When Charging

Problem: When charging my phone and it not turned off after while the screen will light up very dimly and the white screen with the tmobile symbol can be seen. From that point it is locked up and I can’t do anything. Only way to get it back is hold the power and volume down button until it reboots. If the phone is powered off I have no problem at all. I’ve tried several different chargers amd ever bought the Samsung wireless charger. Exact same thing happens no matter which charger is being used. Battery life still seems to discharge at a normal rate. I also put it in safe mode to see if a app may be causing the problem and it still locked up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Solution: It’s likely that this is caused by a faulty hardware component. You can however troubleshoot this problem by checking if some software glitch is the culprit by doing a factory reset. Problem: So basically, yesterday afternoon i let my little sister use my S9 plus to watch videos, she got mad and threw my phone it worked fine, then she did the same thing again that same afternoon and i took it away and left it alone before i went to sleep i put it to charge and i woke up and took it i didnt use it at school because i have another phone but my friend wanted to use it i thought it was dead and it wasn’t turning on so i went to a class and plugged it, it turned on and i disconnected it and left. When i got home i plugged it in again and it turned on and showed the battery thing but it glitched and turned off. I held the power bottom and it showed the logo it went to my homescreen and it was 100 percent charged but when i disconnected it, it turned off. I did the same thing and my percentage went down to 60. at this point i don’t know if its the charger, phone or battery.  Please help

S9 Stuck In Samsung Logo After Battery Drained

Problem: I have had a Samsung S9 for about 2 months and after the battery fully drained last night it will not power on past the opening logo.  It charges but several troubleshooting steps were unsuccessful. I have tried booting to safe mode, booting to recovery mode and wiping the cache, viewing the recovery logs (which mean nothing to me).  Pulling the SIM card also had no effect. I was hoping to recover the phone without having to do a factory wipe. I have read that maybe using the download mode I could attach to the system and recover some data before wiping.  Possibly doing a firmware update might unstick it? Any guidance would be much appreciated.

Solution: For this particular issue you should remove the microSD card of the phone is you have one installed. Once the card has been removed make sure that the phone is charged to 100%. In case the phone does not charge then follow the steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port using a can of compressed air making sure any dirt or debris stuck in the port is removed.
  • Charge the phone using a different charging cord and wall charger.
  • You can also check if the phone can charge from a computer USB port.
  • If you have a wireless charger then try charging the phone with it.

One the phone is fully charged you should try turning it on by pressing and holding on both the power and volume down buttons.

If the phone is still stuck in the Samsung logo then you should consider doing a factory reset in recovery mode. Since this will delete your phone data you can try connecting the phone first to a computer with Smart Switch installed and check if you are able to backup your phone data with the help of the software.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
