S9+ Moisture Detected Error

Problem : Hi. I have the S9+ and the moisture detected error has just flashed up. The phone has never been near water except rain but it’s not been raining here for the last couple of days. The phone resides in the waterproof pocket of my work pants. First this I did was check for water in the pocket but it’s bone dry so I’m at a loss. I work as a mechanic at a lumber yard so am around metal filing and wood shaving all day most days. I’ve tried using tissue to dry it if anything has gotten in there and also used a 1.5 bar airline to gently blow the charge port clear of any possible debris. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated Thanks

Solution: The moisture detected error will usually occur whenever the phone can sense the presence of moisture in the charging port of the phone. This is a protective measure which cuts any electrical activity on the charging port ( which means you won’t be able to charge the phone) to ensure that no component will experience a short circuit. To fix this problem you will need to make sure that the port is free from any moisture. Use a vacuum or hair dryer to remove any moisture in the port.

If the port is already dry and the issue persists then you should proceed with the steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in recovery mode then wipe the cache partition of the phone.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

In case the issue still persists then you will need you bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S9+ Keeps On Restarting

Problem: Hey guys. I’ve Samsung S9+ and recently it got dead and nothing solved my problem when i read your troubleshooting methods. Finally i had it checked through maintenance shop and they found that the power IC was not doing its job. They replaced the power IC and the phone came back to life. The problem that im facing now is that it restarts itself after a while. You guys mentioned at your platform that it happens due to software update. I updated the phone software last month and it was working fine. I’ve been facing the issue since i got the power IC changed. What you guys think can be done to stop restarting the phone itself. Please help.

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone just yet. Remove the microSD card of the phone first ( if your phone has one install) then check if the issue still occurs. If the problem still persists then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component in which case you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S9+ Not Turning On

Problem: I opened my girlfriends phone and went onto an app, as I did that I dragged the top of the screen down to turn the brightness up. Immediately after, the phone froze and then went onto the lock screen and then didn’t turn on after that. What can I do to solve it? I tried holding down the power and volume down key and also the up key too

Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this particular case is to make sure that the battery has sufficient charge by performing the steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using its wall charger.
  • In case the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also check if the phone can charge from a computer USB port.

Once the phone has charges try turning it on by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.

If the issue persists then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S9+ Stuck In Bootloop After Software Update

Problem: After an  update to upgrade my Samsung S9 plus it got stuck in a reboot loop. It would not power down and would often get stuck at the Samsung logo – sometimes the logo would not finish – it would get half way displaying it and then freeze up. So I tried the soft reset and now everything is worse. I have tried every kind of reset I can find: Forced Reboot, Safe mode, Master reset  – all of them. The phone is totally unresponsive. It won’t even display a light when you plug a charger in! Current state of the device: Totally black. No LED’s, no display. It’s as if the battery has been internally disconnected. How on earth do I fix that? Is it basically a bin job? The phone was working fine until the last update – there were no issues with the phone at all and it had more than 50% battery power.

Solution: The first thing that you can do right now is to make sure that the battery has sufficient charge by following the steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a wall charger.
  • If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also try charging the phone from a computer USB port.

Once the phone has sufficient charge try doing a soft reset. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. If it doesn’t then check if you are able to access the recovery mode. From here I suggest that you do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S9+ Moisture Detected Error

Problem: My new samsung galaxy s9+, has never gotten wet. I have additional case that covers the ports, but regardless I’ve not gotten it wet, the charger is suddenly stating that the charging port is wet. I’ve physical double checked, ran paper strips around the terminal contact, and comes up dry. Is there a way to fix this.?

Solution: When this error message appears on your phone the first thing you will need to do is to make sure that the charging port of the phone is dry by using a mini vacuum or hair dryer on it. In case it is already dry and free from any moisture but then the error message still appears then this could be caused by a software glitch. Try restarting the phone then check if the same issue still occurs. If it does then you will need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S9+ Will Not Fast Charge

Problem: Hi, I have an S9+  that will not “fast charge” it charges but it will take about 6 to 8 hours to be fully charged. I read and tried all of your tips. I don’t know what to do, this is the second phone I’ve owned, I really love this phone.

Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this case is to make sure that the fast charge setting of the phone is enabled.

  • Open Settings app.
  • Tap Device maintenance.
  • Tap Battery.
  • Tap More options at the upper right (three-dot icon).
  • Tap Advanced settings.
  • To turn on Fast cable charging, touch the slider.

Once this setting is enable proceed with cleaning the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then try using a different charging cord and adaptive fast charger.

In case the issue still persists then proceed with the additional troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it’s very likely that you have downloaded an app that is causing this problem. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone just yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you need to have this checked at a service center.
