Solved Samsung Galaxy S9+ In A Restart Loop

The #Samsung #Galaxy #S9+ is one of the best Android smartphone models that you can get today. Released this year, this phone is an improvement over its predecessor which is the S8+.  This model uses the same 6.2 inch Super AMOLED display but then improves its internal hardware by using the latest Snapdragon 845 or Exynos 9810 octa core processor allowing it to provide a better mobile experience. Although this is a solid performing device there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S9+ in a restart loop issue and other related problems.

S9+ In A Restart Loop

Problem: I have the Samsung S9+ and just had my phone freeze and then enter a restart loop. I let it do the loop a few times before I went into Android Recovery mode in hopes to stop the loop. I then did “Reboot System Now” which just set the loop back into motion. I did “Power Off” which had the same results. I then with much consideration did “Wipe Cache partition” and “Wipe Data/System Reset” both of which have not helped my cause. I currently have the phone plugged in which allows the Android Recovery to appear but if I unplug it the device enters the loop again. I also tried “Reboot to Bootloader” in hopes it could break the loop but it appears to just sit there forever doing nothing and not helping my cause. I just tried to run a “Graphics test” and it sent my phone into a blue screen with a broken android on it. This entire thing is frustrating because a phone shouldn’t essentially “brick” itself with a single app open. And just to help I always clear my background apps, clear the RAM, and clear the extra stuff taking up storage and battery life. This phone broke for no reason and really starts making Apple look good since they may be behind in tech but at least it works.

Solution: Do you have a microSD card installed in the phone? If you have one then try removing it as this might be causing the problem. If the problem persists and since you have already performed a factory reset which does not help then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component.

S9+ Does Not Turn On

Problem: Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus. I have had my phone only for a month and have taken care of it, last night it died normally but once I put it to charge it wasn’t how it normally charges. If I pressed and held the power button it wouldn’t turn on and the grey battery symbol with a lightning bolt showed. Normally it would show the percentage of battery in green but it wasn’t. Then I tried to restart it with the power button  volume down button at the same time. Once it started to turn on it would get to my lock screen but then it would suddenly stop charging then shut off right away. After that it had not turned on at all, won’t charge, won’t reboot or show the lightning bolt battery either. My phone has no water damage, I don’t over charge it, and it wasn’t dropped when this happened. Also I use the original charger as well. I tried using a different charger to see if it was my cable but the other one wasn’t working for my phone either. I used my charger to see if it would charge someone else’s android and it worked perfectly fine for them. How do I fix this???

Related Problem: Hi, my samsung galaxy S9+ phone is not working or turning on, it’s charging fine and it has an orange light and I did the advice you suggested to me by pressing the down volume and the power button but it still is not working, the screen flickers and some sounds can be heard very briefly, but it is still a blank screen.

Solution: The first thing that you should do right now is to make sure that the battery is getting charged by the phone charger by following the steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air making sure that any dirt or debris stuck in it gets removed.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a wall charger. If the phone does not charge then try charging it from a computer USB port. If you have a wireless charger available then try charging the phone wirelessly as well.

Once the phone has charged then try turning it on by pressing both power and volume down buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds. If the issue persists then try doing a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
