S8 Not Turning On After Getting Wet

Problem: I went to a water park and took a couple pictures in less than one foot of water. The phone then didn’t want to turn on and kept vibrating as if you were clicking a button. A blue screen then popped up and turned on but then turned back off. NOW it doesn’t want to turn on or charge. The camera turned foggy and so did the front sensors.

Solution: It looks like water has entered the phone and is causing this problem right now. Although this device has a water resistant feature it’s still possible for water to enter the phone especially if the rubber seals are damaged. The best thing that you can do right now is to place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb any moisture inside the phone. Once this is done try to check if the problem still occurs. If it does then the phone is most likely water damaged in which case you will need to bring it to a service center and have it checked.

S8 Keeps On Rebooting During Charging

Problem: Phone just started continuously rebooting DURING CHARGING ONLY.  When it is not connected to a charger, it doesn’t reboot. I tried the “Wipe System Cache”, but it didn’t fix it.  I booted in SAFE MODE, but it still continuously reboots when it is connected to charger. This just started happening about two days ago.  I have not installed any new apps in over 3 months. It only happens when the charge is plugged in. It happens with ANY charger I try to use.

Solution: What you will want to do right now is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air making sure that any dirt or debris stuck in the port gets removed. Next, try using a different charging cord and wall charger to charge your phone. Does the problem still occur? If it does then try charging the phone from a computer USB port. In case the issue does not occur then the charging port of the phone is damaged in which case you will need to have this replaced at a service center.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then this is most likely caused by a faulty internal component. The best thing to do right now is to have the phone checked at a service center.

S8 Is Not Charging

Problem: I Plugged my S8 phone into an IMac to charge while visiting my sis. It didn’t work and… Since then the phone won’t charge. Sometimes it will flash the lightning and charge a little over time. I’ve tried different cables and I’ve done a hard reset. Same problem… i get how it’s theoretically possible the port is bad… but that just doesn’t seem likely as a result of hooking into an IMac. I’m rocking the external battery charger life now, and could use any advice. Thanks!

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. In case the phone still does not charge after this then you will need to have this checked at a service center.

S8 Rebooting Randomly

Problem: My phone was fine until all of a sudden it froze and shut off, I had to use the Volume Down button and Power Key to even get it going again and it quickly did the same thing again, I then started it in ”safe mode” and it continues to shut down permanently or restart itself randomly, any help would be great. I also do not know what android version I am on.

Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then try removing this first. Proceed with starting the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset from here. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data. If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should have this checked at a service center.

Solved Samsung Galaxy S8+ Only Charges From Computer USB Port

The #Samsung #Galaxy #S8+ is a flagship phone released last year which is the bigger version of the S8. It sports a larger 6.2 inch Super AMOLED display and a bigger capacity 3500 mAh battery. The rest of the components of this device are similar to the S8 such as the processor, memory, and camera among others. Although this is a solid performing phone there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S8+ only charges from computer USB port issue and other related problems.

S8+ Only Charges From Computer USB Port

Problem: Hello, I have a 10 months old Galaxy S8+ – the type C charger cable had been deteriorating during a 2 months period until it didn’t charge anymore – the phone got very hot when I used to charge it with that cable – I changed the cable with a new one and it will only charge the phone if it is turned off, but with interruptions. – tried a brand new original adapter with new cable, it won’t charge at all – works fine if charging from laptop usb or car charger, but no fast charge, why won’t normal adapters work? I hope It was detailed enough, Thanks.

Solution: It’s very likely that the problem is caused by a faulty phone charging port. To troubleshoot this issue try cleaning the charging port using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port. Try checking if the phone can charge with a wall charger. If the problem still persists then it’s likely that one of the pins  of the charging port is damaged. You will need to have the charging port checked and possibly replaced at a service center.

S8+ Is Not Charging

Problem: Hello, I have a problem with my Samsung S8 plus It is not recharging. The gray-white battery charging symbol comes up, it even goes to show 0% charge and say that it will take 1h 20min to charge (using the Samsung Fast Charger), but it never accumulates any charge. It remains on 0%. If I try to start it, it does start but as soon as it loads the home screen it says it has 0% charge and it shuts down. I should mention that I forgot it outside for about 45 min during a very light rain drizzle, so it got a bit wet; so i wonder if this created a problem… however, if something short circuited, i would expect it would not even load at all. I’d appreciate any advice.

Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this case is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port as this can interfere with the charging process. Once this is done check if the phone can charge. If it doesn’t then proceed with the additional troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Try using a different charging cord and wall charger to charge the phone.
  • Try charging the phone from a computer USB port. If the phone charger then one of the pins of the charging port might be damaged.
  • Try using a wireless charger. If the phone charges then the charging port of the phone could be damaged.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8+ Not Turning On After Factory Reset

Problem: I did a factory reset on my phone, as in just pressed factory reset then set the phone down. When I checked it about an hour later the startup page was ok ie., time display, battery life 40% and signal. Set it down again & thought I must fully charge it later. About 2/3 hours later tried to charge phone but it is completely dead nothing at all. I have tried all the advice for all the reboot soft & hard charging overnight but still nothing. Can you advise anything else please ? Thank you

Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this case is to make sure that the phone battery has sufficient charge by following the steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a wall charger. If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You can also check if the phone can charge from a computer USB port.

Once the battery has sufficient charge try turning on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.

If the phone still does not turn on then you should have this checked at a service center.

S8+ Battery Charges Slowly

Problem: Hi there. I was charging my phone like normal connected to bluetooth to the car etc. Then is suddenly started heating up and i let it charge to 90%. 3 hr later i tried charging it and it kept coming up with a message that there was moisture detected not allowing me to charge the phone which happened for 4 hours till it started charging again but at a really slow pace. Now it takes an hour to charge to 5% I’ve tried troubleshooting the problem in many ways but nothing is happening. Could it possibly be the battery or port? Looking forward to the reply.

Solution: The best way to fix this problem is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check if the issue still occurs. If it does then try cleaning the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air then use a different charging cord and wall charger to charge the phone.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to have the phone checked at a service center.

S8 Slow Charging

Problem: Hello.  Just a few days ago, I was out all day to get home to a dead phone and so I plugged it in and it indicated that it was charging and so I went to sleep.  I woke up the next morning to turn on my phone and find that it had only gotten to about 57% after over twelve hours of charging. I put it back on the charge and watched it because I have had the issue of it going on and off of charging all night.  But this time was different. It showed that it never stopped charging, but was still going at this sloth’s pace. I put up with it and hoped that it would just start charging at it’s normal rate again. And then came today. I was just at the end of a game of PUBG on my phone and it turned off, which was not unexpected for it had given me the 5% warning long before.  But the thing that brought me here was that after I plugged it in, it gave me the warning that the battery was either busted or missing. I have gone through your articles on why the battery charges so slowly and why it says the battery is either damaged or missing. I have tried everything that you’ve recommended and none of it seems to apply to my device or doesn’t help in my scenario.  I do not know what version of android it was running on.

Solution: There’s a possibility that the battery is indeed faulty as it previously shows signs of not charging properly. What you will want to do right now is to first eliminate the other possible factors that can cause this problem before bringing the phone to a service center for a battery replacement. Follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger.
  • Try turning on the phone.
  • To eliminate any software related glitches that could be causing this problem you should do a factory reset from recovery mode. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8 Is Not Charging

Problem: My phone was charging last night using a wireless charger and was about 12% and I took it off the charge to turn it on and it was on for about 3 mins before it switched off again because it went flat. I put it back on the charger and left it to charge overnight, but when I tried turning the phone on this morning it wouldn’t. I have tried using different chargers and cables even a car charger but it’s still not charging the phone and I have noticed that its heating up as well. Please help.

Solution: If the phone does not charge using a wireless charger or a wired charger then the problem could be caused by a faulty power IC or battery. You can troubleshoot this further by cleaning the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air then charge the device using a different charging cord and wall charger. If this doesn’t work then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8 Not Turning On After Screen Replacement

Problem: I replaced the screen for s8.  After installing the new screen i checked it, it was working fine. when i fixed the back cover then it turned off and did not turn on even not showing any charging sign. I put it on charge for 15 minutes still not showing any sign. I have also done press volume done and power key. But the battery was only 1% when i was done with this phone. Can you please tell me the reason and solution.

Solution: You should double check the work you did while replacing the screen as the problem could be caused by a loose connection. There’s also the possibility that this could be caused by a drained battery in which case you will need to charge the phone by following the steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure any dirt or debris stuck in this port is removed.
  • Charge the phone for 20 minutes  using a different charging cord and wall charger.
  • Turn on the phone.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8+ Stopped Working After Taking Underwater Photo

Problem: Hi there, I have a s8+ and 3 months ago had the screen replaced by a local shop after it cracked. The device is 9 months old and I wanted to take a photo underwater today. As soon as I did that, the screen stopped working and now the device is off and won’t turn on. What should I do? Let it air dry?

Solution: It’s very likely that when the display of the phone was replaced the adhesive seal that prevents water from entering the phone was not replaced. This now results in a device that is water damaged after taking the underwater photos. The best thing that you can do right now is to place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside the phone. Once this is done try to check if the phone will turn on. If it doesn’t then the best thing you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8+ Screen Is Flashing after Getting Wet

Problem: Hi there, recently my phone had been touched by a bit of water and the screen kept “blinking”. I had put it in rice to dry out and I think the battery had died. I tried charging it overnight yet the screen won’t turn on or even show that it is charging. I tried the reset turn on steps on the site by holding down the volume and power buttons, the phone vibrates yet the screen still doesn’t turn on. I have an S8 with a non-removable battery and I’ve been using it for the past 8 months. I would appreciate any help with this problem. Thank you in advance.

Solution: If this problem is caused by water entering the phone then you will need to place the device in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside the phone. Once this is done clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air making sure that any dirt or debris stuck in the port is removed. Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a wall charger then turn on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.

In case the phone still does not turn on then you should have this checked at a service center.

S8+ Is Not Charging

Problem: I have been using my galaxy S8+ for a year now. The phone’s original charger stop working quiet quickly and since then any other charger I have used never seems to work. I have gone through about 10 chargers which all seem to work for at most a week and then stops working. I have tried using same chargers on other devices and they have worked. Yesterday i bought a new charger yet again, it worked for about 10 hours and hasn’t worked since. When i change the usb and use a cheaper one with the plug it works fine. I really need help

Solution: It looks like the problem is caused by an issue with the phone charging port. Try cleaning this charging port using a can of compressed air making sure that any dirt or debris stuck in it gets removed. Once this is done try using a different charging cord and wall charger to charge the phone. If the issue persists then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8+ Keeps On Vibrating Not Turning On

Problem: samsung galaxy S8+ i was just scrolling through fb when it suddenly froze and after about 10 seconds started vibrating on a black screen with samsung galaxy  logo couldn’t get it to stop straight vibrating for over 30 min held down power button volume down button for 20 seconds and it stopped vibrating said system updating and then after a while went black with little blue letters in the corner saying recovery booting then will go back to completely black vibrate one back with blue letters again then vibrate and repeat this all night till the battery died did this again in the morning when i plugged it in and tried again

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data. If the problem still persists then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8+ Not Registered On Network After Flashing

Problem: I flashed a custom ROM  then I had no signal it was saying ‘not registered on network’ and everything else said ‘Unknown’ for example imei and phone number and so on.. so I flashed through twrp another ROM and still no signal was trying all online help but nothing so tried to connect to pc to flash back to stock but computer says USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNISED and then I must have turned of OEM and reset the phone and I have is: PRODUCT NAME:SM-G955A CURRENT BINARY: CUSTOM SYSTEM STATUS: CUSTOM FRP LOCK: ON SECURE DOWNLOAD: ENABLED WARRANTY VOID: 1 (0 030c) RP SWRVE: B:2 K:0 S:1

Solution: It’s very likely that the problem is caused by wrong firmware that you flashed on your phone or the IMEI number of your device has changed and is not recognized by the network. The best thing that you can do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode then do the following.

  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone.
  • Perform a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

Once this is done download the correct stock firmware file for your phone from the Sammobile website then flash it on your device. The instructions on how to flash your phone can also be found on this website.

In case you are encountering the problem where the phone is not recognized by the computer then do the following troubleshooting steps.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air.
  • Try using a different USB cord.
  • Try connecting the phone to a different USB port in your computer.
  • Try using a different computer.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8+ Is Not Charging

Problem: I have a S8 plus running android oreo latest update.  My phone will not charge. I’ve run through the usual soft resets, factory default reset, and I’ve even had the charging board in my phone replaced – but it does not fix the charging functionality.  This is the phone that I’ve owned that I believe was bricked by Sprint and/or Google via an update. Any other ideas or recommendations to get this thing working? Thanks. sidenote: Yes I’m using a samsung branded power block and usb cable.

Solution: Since you have already performed a factory reset and and even had the charging port of the phone replaced which does not fix the problem then this is most likely caused by some other component that is failing to work properly. Some of the main suspects include the battery and the power IC. The best thing to do right now is to have the phone repaired at a service center.

S8+ Moisture Has Been Detected

Problem: Moisture has been detected. Unplug the charger and wait until the charger and usb port are dry. It was working fine when charging until I moved the charger to another outlet and received this error message. The phone has not been anywhere in water or moisture. I’ve been receiving this error messages about 5-6 times within the past week.

Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this case is to make sure that the charging port of the phone is free form the presence of moisture. Use a mini vacuum or hair dryer to dry out the port. If you see dirt or debris in the port then use a can of compressed air to clean the port. Once this is done check if the phone will charge. If the error message still pops up then you will have to proceed with a factory reset as this might be caused by a software glitch. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

S8+ Will Only Show Black Screen

Problem: My phone only show a black screen will not power on attempted a soft reset by holding power button and power down key. Then tried power up and power on key.  After letting it sit the clock and date screen came on but when I touched the home key the screen went back to black. Message alerts can still be heard.

Solution: The best thing you can do right now is to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch by starting the phone in recovery mode then doing a factory reset in this mode. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

If the screen still remains black then it’s likely that this is already a hardware related problem. The best thing you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8 Is Not Charging

Problem: Hello! So I have an S8, an Android phone, and I’ve recently started having a few issues with it. My phone has always been pretty good, no matter what I’ve done. Nothing a reset, update, or even one time a factory reset, couldn’t handle. There was a period of time I wasn’t able to use it for roughly 2 months, but it was perfectly fine after that for the past few months. I do tend to drop it from time to time, and I can mess up the plugs by breaking earbuds in it or pulling and tugging on cords while they’re in, but it’s never given me issues. Last night it was perfectly fine. I had just gotten a new game and was playing it, it was all perfectly well. Same with this morning, it was running perfectly well. There has been the issue of the battery on my phone draining extremely fast but I never paid much mind to it. But today was really weird. I had gone on a 45 minute ride to my church while listening to Spotify Music and it was perfectly fine. Upon arriving at church I closed the app and doodled on another app, PicArts. It was still fine. Eventually I turned off the screen and put the phone down during the 2 and a half hour service. At the end I checked my phone and it was already at 38% from the 100% this morning. Of course I had just guessed it was normal. On our way leaving I got in the car and plugged it into the car to charge and drove another 30 minutes to get lunch. When I got there it looked like my phone hasn’t charged a bit, it was at 15% now. So I just closed all my apps and left it in the car. When I arrived home after eating I saw my phone was at 1% and so I hurried inside and plugged it in. I left it plugged in for 10 minutes perhaps and I checked on it, it was still at 1%. So I quickly decided it was an issue with the cord. I changed the cord and the plug several times. Using different outlets and such, but it was all the same, no charge. Weird enough, however, whenever I’d plug it in the battery would show a red exclamation mark, usually like it does when it’s low battery, and when it’s not plugged in it just shows the normal battery with the level that it’s at, but it stays white the whole time. Even if it was at 1%, which at that point it would normally be red with an exclamation mark. I tried resetting it a few times, and eventually I just powered it down. It didn’t charge a bit. So I gave up and unplugged it, but oddly enough as soon as I unplugged it, it showed a charging sign. I left it like this and it got up to 36% on its own. I was thoroughly confused. Playing with the cords for a moment, it didn’t charge anymore. Plugged in or not, it just slowly died. I google it online and then I decided to check the port, so I connected it to a laptop. It recognized that it was plugged in, giving me the option to transfer files. I accepted and just to be certain I went through the files, and sure enough it was connected. But the battery was still not charging. Funny enough too, whenever I’d reset it, it wouldn’t turn back on unless it was plugged in, despite the plug not charging it. I read somewhere about overcharging and discharging your phone, so I suppose that’s it. I have not dropped it for probably a month now, I have NEVER, in my history of having this phone, gotten it wet. It was charging perfectly fine last night, I just suppose my app usage today overly drained it. I’m really confused at how to get it fixed, what I should be looking and asking for if I were to go to the sprint store, where I bought it. Currently I have it plugged in and it’s not dropped from 16% in the last few hours. I’ve been using it a bit too. I did a factory reset, many basic resets, and just powering it off for a while. I’ve tried app cleaners and such, nothing is working. Just as well, I can’t access the battery on my phone. I can’t find any location to get into the back of my phone, and I don’t want to try anything without being certain I won’t further damage it. So far all I think is that I’ve overused the battery, as well as constantly overcharging it, keeping it plugged in at 100% while using it, this is a common thing I do. Is it time for a new phone? Do I simply need to see a professional to access and restore the battery to its full and we’ll condition? Perhaps I need a special charger to boost the charge it’s not getting currently? I’m thoroughly confused and desperately need help. Thank you for your time and aid.

Solution: There’s a possibility that the problem is already caused by a faulty battery. Replacing the battery will fix this problem. Since this phone has a non-user removable battery then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8 Will Not Charging

Problem: My Samsung galaxy S8 will not charge. I’ve had this phone for a little over 1 year. But it will not charge. I let it charge over night as I always do, but when I woke up it said 15%. So i plugged it back in and again only charged 1% before the percent started dropping. The whole time it is plugged in it says that my phone is charging and has the symbol to indicate its charging. I have switched outlets and boxes but still wont charge properly. When I got home I plugged it in on an extension cord and it charged to 19% but when I plugged it back in it said it was charging yet dropped down to 14% and now I am still struggling to get it to charge.

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in the port is removed. Once this is done try using a different charging cord and wall charger to charge the phone. If the issue still persists then the problem could be caused by a faulty charging port, power IC, or battery. If this is the case then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8+ Pictures In microSD Card Are Corrupted

Problem: I bought a Samsung 128g evo+ SD card to use in my S8 Plus in July. I took some pictures and everything was fine then after a few minutes there was a grey box on them. Since then formatted the card and it seemed ok but last week I got a few more pics with a similar issue. I should mention that I changed the camera setting from 4:2(12) to 6:9(16) before taking the picture. I did this because it seemed too short to take a picture.

Solution: It looks like the problem is caused by a corrupted microSD card. Since you have already formatted this card and the issue still persists then I suggest that you get a new card and check if the problem still occurs with this new card. If it does then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S8+ Charging Cord Gets Easily Damaged

Problem: Got a S8 plus and I’m onto my 3 charger cord now. I’m not buying the cheap ones either. I just want to know if many other people are having the same problem. It’s getting costly now that they are only last a couple off months now.

Solution: To ensure that the charging cord you use does not get damaged you will need to  make sure to take care of it properly. Some tips on how to do this are listed below.

  • Unplug the charging cord by holding its head and not the cord. While pulling from the cord might not damage it immediately there’s this tendency when the stress from pulling the cord will weaken the wires inside thus will be damaged over time.
  • Don’t expose the charging cord to extreme temperatures. This could either be a very hot or very cold environment.
  • When not using the charging cord make sure to store it in a safe place where no one can trip over it.
  • It also helps to get high quality charging cords. If you can get a Samsung branded cord then this is what you should use on your phone.

S8+ Moisture Detected Error

Problem: Hi. I have a Samsung S8 Plus for a while, 2 weeks ago a got an error that says it detected moisture. I searched on the internet and saw that this is a common error so i tried to give it time but i still have it.  YEsterday i tried to charge my phone and when i wake up i found that it didn`t charge at all. Now i cannot do anything i`m trying to charge it and i can`t because of the error, also i can`t open it because it has no battery. I don’t know what to do anymore.

Solution: The moisture detected error usually occurs when the charging port is wet or has some liquid in it. What you will need to do in this case is to make sure that the phone charging port is dry. Use a vacuum to remove any presence of liquid in this port. You can also use a hair dryer to evaporate the moisture inside the port. Once this is done restart the phone then check if the issue still occurs. If the issue persists then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Try using a different charging cord and wall charger to charge the phone.
  • Try using a wireless charger to charge the phone. Once the phone charges and turns on then you should consider doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this might already be a hardware related problem.

S8+ Is Not Charging

Problem: Hi, my new S8+ was just charging no problem. Then it completely died and since then it won’t charge at all. I’ve tried all the steps. Is there anything else I can do before sending it back for a warranty?

Solution: If your phone does not charge then you should follow the troubleshooting steps listed below to fix the problem.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port.
  • Try charging the phone for at least 20 minutes.
  • If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also check if the phone can charge from a computer USB port. If it charges this way then you need to have the charging port checked at a service center.
  • Check if the phone can charge using a wireless charger.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8+ Not Turning On With Green LED Light

Problem: I took my Galaxy s8+ off charge the green indicator light was on, and it’s staying on. But my phone won’t turn on. I have tried every step by step to resolve this problem. And the green Led light has been on the entire time and is still on. Please help me with this issue ASAP. Thank you for your time.

Solution: When the green LED light of the phone is glowing this mean that the phone is connected to its charger and is fully charged. If the phone is not connected to the charger and the green LED light is still lit with the phone not turning on then you will have to perform a simulated battery pull. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. In case if it doesn’t then try starting the phone in recovery mode and from here perform a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8+ Not Turning On After Getting Wet

Problem: I lost my phone in a waterfall after 5 hours i found it in the water , i didn’t turn it on for 3 days , after 3 days i put it on charger the device showed me the charging sign and it was blinking and not charging . And i can’t turn it on What should i do plz help me

Solution: There’s a possibility that some water might have entered the phone. To fix this problem you should place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside the phone. Once this is done clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air then charge the device first for at least 20 minutes. Try turning on the phone after charging it. In case the issue persists then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8+ SIM 2 Not Receiving Text Messages

Problem: Hi, I bought Galaxy S8+ DUO one month ago, I got the problem in receiving text messages and calls on SIM2. SIM1 is working perfectly, but SIM2 works only when I  restart the phone after changing the settings. but once the phone is in sleep mode after that SIM2 doesn’t works until I have to change the settings and restart the Phone, Please help to solve this. Thanks in advance

Solution: There’s a possibility that this is caused by a software glitch. To check if this is the case you should wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode. Once this is done backup the phone data then do a factory reset. In case the issue still occurs after the reset then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8 Is Not Charging

Problem: I have had a Samsung Galaxy S8 for about 6 months now. Up until about a month ago, everything was working fine without any problems. Then one night, I got home late and realized my phone had died. I put it on my wireless charger and it turned on and said it was charging. It was up to 4% before I went to bed. Next morning I wake up and it is only at 14%, but it was on the charger for 6+ hours. I took it off and put it back on, and everything worked fine again. Didn’t experience it again for about 3 weeks and then same thing happened. Except this time I couldn’t get it to charge again. I ended up using an adapter to connect my phone to my PS4 controller charger, and this worked. Next day same thing happened again, and now it is not charging at all. I have tried resetting it, just from the popup that you get by holding the power button. I don’t know what is going on. I plug it in or set it on the charger and it says it is charging on my phone. I walk away for a while and come back and find that the lightning sign on the battery is still there indicating that it is charging, but the battery is lower. Please help.

Related Problem: I have a Samsung S8 , I’ve had it for perhaps 3 months now. I left it charging all night, then when I woke up I wanted to go on it, but when I happened to pick it up with my own hands, pulling the charger out, the screen said ”0%” then after that it switched off knowing I left it charging all night. For quite some time I have been trying to get it working by leaving it to charge then holding the power switch along with the home button and the up and down volume button, and yet it is not turning back on, swapping charges doesn’t work. I don’t have a clue what is wrong with the phone, if it’s completely worn out or if there’s something wrong with it and can be fixed by hand at home instead of going somewhere and having it completely wiped. Do you know what can be done? It’s quite urgent in a way.

Solution: What you will want to do in this particular case is to eliminate some of the most common factors that can cause this problem by following the steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. It’s important to remove any dirt or debris that might be stuck in this port.
  • Charge the phone using its original charging cord and wall charger.
  • If the issue persists then try charging the phone using a different charging cord and wall charger.

In case the issue persists then you should have this checked at a service center as this could already be caused by some faulty hardware component.

S8 Is Not Responding

Problem: My Samsung S8 turned off with about 60% battery left this morning right in front of me and won’t respond to the power key, a soft reset, or recovery mode. It does not respond to anything at all.

Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to make sure that the battery has sufficient charge by following the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Remove the microSD card of the phone if you have one installed.
  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using its charging cord and wall charger. Make sure that you see the charging icon. If the icon is not present then try using a different charging cord and wall charger.
  • Turn on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked since this could already be a hardware related issue.

S8+ Bootloop After Software Update

Problem: I have a Sprint Galaxy S8+ which I purchased shortly after its release last year. For the past 10-11 months, I’ve loved the phone. I typically root my android devices to install custom ROMs and remove carrier bloatware, but I have not felt compelled to do so with this device. Yesterday (3/14/18), I got a notification that an update was available. It looked like the same type of security patch/bug fix minor update that comes along every few months, so I thought nothing of it. I downloaded it and when I returned to my office, I made sure that my battery was above 90%, then hit the button to restart and install. After the update applied (seemingly without issue), the phone restarted, but only got as far as the “Galaxy S8…Powered by android” screen. It would sit there for about 20 seconds, then reboot back to the same screen. After about 30 minutes of this, I attempted to power down the device so I could boot to recovery and perform a cache wipe. Wouldn’t power down, so no luck. I was, however, able to boot into download mode. Finally, the battery died. I plugged it in and within a minute, it went right back into the boot loop. I let it charge up completely anyway. Next step, I manually flashed an official firmware from Samsung using the latest version of Odin I could find. The file took almost 3 hours to download to my PC before I could even attempt to install it on my device. I booted the phone into download mode, started up Odin, selected the proper AP file and hit START. Everything worked exactly as it should. Odin said “Success!” when it was finished. The phone, on the other hand went right back into the boot loop. This time, however, after about 20 minutes, the screen went black. No combination of button presses have any effect. I connected to a charger just to see what would happen. The circle with the lightening bolt in it appears, but the circle never fills. That’s where I’m at now. At my wit’s end. My next step is to take it to the Sprint store, but I don’t have insurance so I doubt they’ll help. I am desperate for any suggestions. A simple OTA update bricked my phone beyond anything I’ve experienced before.

Solution: Since flashing the phone with a stick firmware file using Odin fails to work then this is most likely caused by a hardware component that is failing to work properly. This component might have failed at the same time the phone was performing the update which is why it might look like the update is causing the problem.

The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8+ Is Not Charging

Problem: My phone at first , was draining my battery, from 24% to 0%. Now when i charge it, its not working, i used my dad’s phone to charge, it works for his phone but not mine. Now it’s 0%, no matter i use which kind of charge or plug, it’s still the same. I don’t have a battery to take out to change. So could you help me please??? I have lots of important information inside and its Samsung S8+

Solution: You should try cleaning the charging port of the phone first using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in the port as this could interfere with the charging process. Once the port is clean try charging the phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also check if the phone can charge using a wireless charger or from a computer USB port.

In case the issue persists then this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component possibly the battery or power IC. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8+ Not Turning On After Drop

Problem: I recently dropped my samsung galaxy S8+ phone, it had a protective cover on it. nothing is physically damaged on the outside. screen is intact, I have tried restarting my phone several different ways. Pressing the power button and volume down for 1 to 3 minutes .Taken SD microchip out and other chip out… nothing is working. A blue light appears at the top of the phone and the noise comes out like it is starting, but the screen is black.

Solution: It’s likely that the drop has damaged a component inside the phone. You can however check if another factor is causing this problem by following the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a wall charger.
  • Turn on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.
  • If the phone does not turn on then try starting it in recovery mode. From here I suggest that you do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

If the above steps doesn’t fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
