S6 Apps Crashes After Nougat Update

Problem: After update do android 7.0 every app that i open crashes, i.e. phone goes back to home screen as if I am holding the back key. I’ve tried wipe cache memory and factory reset but still the problem exists. so if i open internet app it goes back to home screen, if i enter contacts the same, if i go to settings the same, if i want to call someone i have to do it very fast otherwise it will go back to home screen

Solution: Here’s what you need to do to fix this problem. First, backup your phone data. Once this is done start the phone again in recovery mode then wipe the cache partition of the device then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try checking first if the issue still occurs. If it does then the update might be causing this problem. This doesn’t usually happen though so to verify if this is the case you should try installing the previous software version on your phone. You will have to manually flash the old firmware using Odin. You can get the firmware file as well as the instructions on how to flash your phone at the Sammobile website.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Stopped Working After Charging

Problem: Hi. My phone recently just stopped working out of nowhere after I stopped charging it. It won’t turn on or reboot despite several tries. Can it be fixed? If so, will my phone be the same as before, e.g. all the old messages and apps still there? Also, I’ve had this phone for over 3 years, so there’s no doubt that the warranty is no longer valid. If my phone can’t be saved, can I still save the data, apps and other information stored on the phone?

Related Problem: Hi, I fully charged my S6 and was using it fine. I proceeded to unplug it and the screen went dead and none of the buttons became responsive. I have tried recharging it, using a different charger and trying to do a factory reset without any luck. Any advice on how I can recover my phone?

Related Problem: Hi there I have Samsung galaxy s6 and I turned off at night to put in charging and it already had 78 % battery in it at the time I put it in charging but next day morning when I tried to turn on it doesn’t turn on , The device is not showing any lights neither does it charge using cable or wireless charging, please can u help to find out a possible solution to this as I have already tried to take it for a repair but they are saying it’s not responding at all

Solution: To fix this problem try cleaning the charging port of the phone first using a can of compressed air then charge the phone again for at least 20 minutes. This time though you should use a different charging cord and wall charger. In case the phone does not charge then try charging from a computer USB port.

Once the phone has charged turn it on by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then it’s very likely that the battery or power IC of the phone is not working anymore. Have this checked at a service center. If any of the two components need to be replaced then you won’t lose your phone data.

S6 Black Screen That Occasionally Flashes

Problem: HI, Today my Samsung Galaxy S6 just wouldn’t work. I tried all recommended solutions to reboot or factory reset but it just black screen and occasionally flashes. It worked in the morning then when I went to use it again just didn’t work and since issue power light is blue and dims and brightens again. This has been happening all day.

Solution: To fix this problem you should try cleaning the charging port of the phone first using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port gets removed. Once this is done charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a wall charger. If the phone doesn’t charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also try charging the phone from a computer USB port. Turn on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Screen Is Unresponsive

Problem: I have a Samsung Galaxy S6, the screen has been freezing the past few days but all i had to do was do a soft restart. Today however it didn’t work and now the touchscreen has been unresponsive the past hours, the display works, and so does the button, just not when i touch the screen it doesnt recognize it… can you please help me out.

Solution: Try starting the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then the problem could be caused by one of the apps you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

In case the issue occurs in Safe Mode then you need to start the phone in recovery mode then from here do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data. Once the reset is complete check if the issue still occurs.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this is most likely a hardware related issue already.

S6 Won’t Charge

Problem: Hi, my Samsung Galaxy S6 won’t charge anymore. It started 2 days ago where it told me to connect to fast charge even though I’m using an original fast charger that the shop gave me. Right now, the phone is totally dead and it wont charge at all. I’ve tried to clean out the charging port, but nothing happens. My carrier ordered a new one under warranty, but my questions is how I can save my data when the phone is totally out. Please help me.

Thanks DROID guys!

Solution: If you have already tried cleaning the charging port and the issue still persists then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also try charging the phone from a computer USB port. If this doesn’t work then the problem is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component. You will need to have this checked at a service center since you won’t be able to recover your phone data if the phone does not turn on.

One of the best features of the #Samsung #Galaxy #S6 is the display that it uses. Although a lot of people are using this device as their primary daily driver without experiencing any issues there are still instances when certain problems can occur which we will be addressing today. S6 Screen Won’t Go To Sleep

Problem: Hi! My phone has been having an issue for a little while now. I have a Galaxy S6 and the screen won’t go to sleep. If I press the power button to turn the screen off it goes off then immediately comes back on. Sometimes it will randomly stop doing it for an hour or so then starts doing it again. I’ve deleted every app off of my phone and it still did it, I’ve updated it a couple times since it started and it didn’t help either. Do you know how to fix this?

Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this particular case is to check if some app that you downloaded is causing the problem. To do this just start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue still occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then an app that you installed could be causing the problem. Find out what app this is then uninstall it.

If the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then you will need to perform the following steps listed below.

  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data
  • Perform a factory reset.

In case the issue still occurs after a factory reset then you will need to have the phone checked at a service center as this could already be a hardware related problem.

S6 Recent Apps Button Not Working After Phone Dropped

Problem: I had dropped my phone and my recent apps button no longer was working I did a system update on my phone and the button started working again with the minor defect of it popping off and on whenever it wants which is about every 5 Seconds making the screen glitch and next to impossible to use the phone is there anything I can do to fix it

Solution: Does your phone have a screen protector or case installed? If it does then try removing it first as this could interfere with how the recent apps button of the phone works.

If your phone does not have a case or screen protector installed or if the issue still occurs when both are removed then you will want to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. This reset will allow you to check if a software glitch is causing this problem. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked as this button might have been damaged by the drop.

S6 Screen Is Unresponsive

Problem: Screen goes unresponsive. When i turn off screen and back on, it comes on dim and unresponsive. After push left button to turn off screen, i have to wait about 1-2 minutes for it to be working again.

Related Problem: My phone freezes and despite all suggestions and tips about holding down different keys does not move off the “Installing Update”. It has been freezing on various reboot screens for the last 3 hours

Solution: It’s possible that this issue is just caused by some software glitch. Follow the recommended troubleshooting steps listed below to fix this problem. After performing a step immediately check if the issue still occurs. If it still does then you should proceed to the next step.

  • Check if an app you downloaded is causing this problem by starting the phone in Safe Mode. If the issue does not occur in this mode then the problem could be caused by an app you installed. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S6 Screen Is Completely Black

Problem: My brand new Samsung galaxy s6 quit working within a month of buying it. The screen is completely black, but everything else seems to work fine. Even the invisible buttons light up. There are hairline cracks under the screen but I doubt this was the cause. Please help!

Solution: If your phone is still getting notifications and everything else works except the screen then it’s very likely that the display is damaged. To further check if this is the case you will need to start the phone in recovery mode. If the screen works in this mode then the problem might just be caused by a software glitch in which case you will need to perform a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data. If the screen is still black even if you start it in recovery mode then you need to have the display checked at a service center.

S6 Stuck In Downloading Do Not Turn Off Target Screen After Getting Wet

Problem: I have a S6 which got drenched in the rain . I brought it inside removed the protective back case and wiped it as dry as I could It also has tempered glass front I took out my SIM card then I put in bag of rice it made a few crackling noises and a blue screen came on it says downloading do not turn off target And on top left hand corner it says Factory mode in red I don’t know what to do to restore it back Please help I am very careful and this is the first time something like this has happened to me.

Solution:  When you see the downloading do not turn off target screen on your phone this means that the device has been started in download mode. If you didn’t manually access this mode and it just automatically appeared then it means that the software might be corrupt possibly due to the phone getting wet. What you need to do right now is to turn off the phone then place it in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside the phone. Once this is done turn on the phone then check if it still gets stuck in download mode. If the issue persists then try turning off the phone then start it in recovery mode. From here you will need to perform a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Freezes At Password Screen

Problem: Phone freezes at password. I cannot use the fingerprint (does not react), when clicking on “backup password” the line appears but no onscreen keyboard appears. I have to restart to get it going (for some reason after some update I cannot use fingerprint anymore after restarting). Happens constantly now, some days all day long. Some days it works ok.

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete immediately check if the issue still occurs. If it does then we could be looking at a hardware related problem. You will then need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked if this is the case.

S6 Screen Is Black Gets Hot When Charged

Problem: Phone screen turned black and overheated, I tried rebooting it but it never came on, every time I plug the charger in the battery symbol appear but the phone start getting hot and won’t charge, I took it the a phone shop to be looked at, the gentlemen told me it was a software issue.

Solution: The fact that the phone is overheating and gets hot when you charge it means that this is most likely caused by a hardware component that is failing to work. The usual suspect in this case is a faulty battery. It’s also possible that a short circuit one one of the components is causing the problem. I suggest that you bring this phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Loses Internet Connection

Problem: The phone loses internet connection turning wifi off and on doesn’t reconnect and when i reset the phone it bricks so i have to keep factory resetting the phone I am able to provide a photo of the reboot page if that helps

Solution: Have you tried checking if the issue occurs when the phone is connected to a different Wi-Fi network? If it doesn’t then the problem could be caused by the particular Wi-Fi network that you are connecting to ( probably a router issue).

In case the issue persists and since you mentioned that you have to keep on performing a factory reset then I recommend that you first try flashing your phone with its updated firmware file using Odin. You can get this file from the Sammobile website which is also where you can get the instructions on how to flash your phone.

If the issue still persists then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Touchscreen Not Working After Getting Wet

Problem: I dropped my Samsung in a pot of water. It’s on and chargers but the touchscreen not working. I have factory restart my phone but didn’t work, and it’s not like I can take the back off the phone off.. please help.

Solution: What you need to do in this case is to make sure that the inside of the phone is free from moisture. Turn off the phone and disconnect it from its charger. Place the device in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours Once this is done turn on the phone then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then the digitizer of the phone might have been damaged when the phone came in contact with water. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Charge Stays at 0% After Phone Dropped

Problem: Hi, I dropped my phone while it was on 80% and then it shut down and when I charged it, it was back at 0%. As its on the charger, it works as normal but the charge won’t go up, it just stays at 0%. I’ve tried restarting it multiple times and used different chargers on it and it still does the same thing.

Solution: Try cleaning the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you should try performing a factory reset to check if this issue is caused by a software glitch. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Screen Is Unresponsive

Problem: My s6 screen was unresponsive. I tried everything to fix/troubleshoot the problem. As there was no damage to the screen(visible damage) I sent it back to my contract provider because it was under warranty. They have said there is a crack in the camera lens and that would cost £60+ to replace. I don’t understand how this would affect the screen and as this problem was long standing where I would have to reset or rapidly to get the screen responding again – I don’t understand how suddenly the screen is not working. I haven’t dropped it etc. Can you tell me if this sounds right ? as any other troubleshooting tips have mentioned nothing about a camera lens being broken to affect the screen

Solution: The crack on the camera lens might be caused by a drop or some pressure exerted on the phone. This will in turn possibly have an effect on how the screen works. What you will want to do in this case is to perform a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that this will delete your phone data. If the screen still does not work after this then you will need to have this fixed at a service center.

S6 Is Not Responding

Problem: i was texting someone while riding with someone in a car and i went to go turn it on after a few minutes and got no response at all. no LEDS notifications and no response when on a charger. i have not dropped this device once or had it sustain any damage whatsoever. i’m also not sure what my android version is so im filling in a random one

Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this particular case is to make sure that the battery has sufficient charge. In order to do this follow the steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a wall charger.
  • If there is no charging indicator then try charging the phone using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also check if the phone can charge from a computer USB port.
  • Turn on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this is most likely a hardware related issue in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Randomly Shutting Off After Nougat Update

Problem: Hello. Please help. I have a Samsung galaxy s6. After updating to nougat, I’m experiencing these problems. My phone keeps shutting off on its own although battery is still full. First time it shut off, I force started it back as it wouldn’t start back by pressing the power key. After that it would shut off on its own when I touch on any apps. No specific apps in particular. It can be either WhatsApp or Fb or even the phone camera. I have tried wiping off the cache partition in recovery mode. No difference. Now the condition has worsened. My phone cannot function once I remove the charger connection. It shuts off. I have already tried updating the software and updating the apps. Could it be a battery problem? How about if I revert to the software before nougat?

Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this case is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset from the recovery mode. Once this is done do not install any apps in your phone yet. If the issue persists then this is most likely caused by a hardware component that is failing to work properly possibly the battery or power IC. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Not Turning On Unless Plugged To Charger

Problem: My Samsung Galaxy S6 won’t turn on unless the battery is plugged in; and in that case, only the “charging signal” with show up but I can’t turn the phone completely on. It was fully charged when it stopped working, and I left it to charge all night.

Solution: Unfortunately this is already a hardware related issue possibly caused by a faulty battery or power IC. You will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it fixed.

S6 Screen Went Black

Problem: Hi, just an FYI, maybe you already know this, so forgive me if you’ve already posted this tip. First-issue. My S6 went black after I dropped it. I tried the power button, the home button, using the quick camera feature by hitting the home button 2x, did all this repeatedly to no success. So THEN I pushed in ALL the buttons at once for 12 seconds-as in both volume up/down, home button and power button. Once I held for 10-12 seconds, the screen came back on and offered many options in small font. I chose “reboot” by toggling with volume down, and selected it by hitting the power button. It just basically powered back up from the “SAMSUNG” screen and I was back to business. Hope this helps.

Solution: Sometimes just rebooting the phone will help solve this particular issue. We’re happy that this worked in your case.
