S6 Screen Is Unresponsive To Touch

Problem: I have an S6 that will become non-responsive to touch. All other buttons function. I did a soft reset, phone comes back on with no change. This has happened once before, but over the course of the morning it became responsive again. Not the case so far this time. I attempted to use the Verizon repair suite, but my phone settings are not set to the proper USB file setting

Related Problem: In my Samsung Galaxy s6 at&t i’m unable to operate screen. power button and other physical buttons and back touch key all work fine but I am unable to operate the screen . this happens time to time and solves in self automatically but sometimes this happens for almost 45 minutes. If i hard restart the phone sometimes the problem persists and some time it is solved pls tell me what is the issue

Solution: Does your phone have a screen protector installed? If it does then you should try removing it as this might be causing the problem.

Troubleshooting the issue further, you should try wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode. This will erase the temporary system data which could be causing this problem.

If the issue persists then you should consider doing a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that you need to backup your phone data before doing this step.

Should the above steps fail then the problem could be caused by a faulty digitizer. You need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked if this is the case.

S6 Unresponsive With Frozen Screen

Problem: My phone becomes unresponsive with a frozen screen I have tried hard restarting but that only last for a few seconds before the screen freezes and the process starts again. Straight of the the hard restart the phone is black screened with a blue light flashing, I don’t know what to do and the phone basically can’t be used

Solution: If the problem still occurs even after a factory reset then it’s possible that this is already caused by a faulty display assembly. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.

S6 Screen Is Black After Drop

Problem: Hey, i have a question! i drop my phone accidentally at the floor and after that the screen was black..i thought it is just a lag but isn’t so i was waiting to finished battery to charging again but do anything..i tried the all tricks with the volume buttons and the power button and the home button but still do nothing! please give me some solution!

Solution: Since this issue occurred right after you dropped your phone then it’s possible that the display might be damaged by the drop. To confirm this you should start your phone in recovery mode. If the screen works in this mode then this might just be caused by a software glitch in which case you need to do a factory reset in this mode. Take note that this process will erase your phone data. If the screen doesn’t work in this mode then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Keeps Freezing

Problem: My Galaxy S6 keeps freezing and I have to restart it 2-3 times just to use it for 5 minutes before it freezes again. I haven’t had any problems with my phone before. I just use wifi. I have no idea what android version I have. Thanks

Solution: What you should do first in this case is to check if an app you downloaded is causing this problem. To do this just start the phone in Safe Mode. When the phone operates in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. Check if the issue still occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it’s very likely caused by one of the apps you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If the problem still occurs even in Safe Mode then try wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. This will erase the temporary system data of the phone which can usually cause this problem. If this fails to fix the problem then your last option is a factory reset. Take note that you should backup your phone data before doing the reset.

S6 Black Screen After Falling In Toilet

Problem: The phone fell into the toilet and sat in rice for 48 hours then the phone just blacked out meaning you can do everything but you can’t see the screen.

Solution: It’s possible that the water has damaged the display assembly of the phone. You will need to have this checked at a service center.

One of the main reasons why the #Samsung #Galaxy #S6 is still being widely used today despite the fact that it is already a two year old model is because it gets constant software updates. S6 Stuck On Installing System Update

Problem: My mother’s galaxy s6 is stuck on installing system update and will no nothing i’ve tried the hard reset and that factory data reset with the volume down and power key. nothing works very frustrating. no damage to the phone

Solution: If a hard reset does not fix the problem then it’s very likely that this is caused by a corrupted phone software. The best thing you can do right now is to  flash the phone with its updated firmware file using Odin. You can get this file from the Sammobile website which is also where you can get the instructions on how to flash your phone. In case this doesn’t work then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Not Charging After Getting Wet

Problem: some water fell on my phone it wont charge anymore, and when i take out my sim card tray it was still white. what can i do my phone didn’t fall recently only some water went in it and it wasn’t much. Thank you.

Solution: What you will want to do right now is to make sure that the phone is dry. Wipe the external part of the device with a soft cloth to remove any liquid. Use a vacuum or a hair dryer to dry out any moisture in the charging port. The next step is to place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside the phone. After 48 hours have passed then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris that might be stuck in this port.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using its wall charger.
  • In case the phone still does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also try charging the phone from a computer USB port.
  • Turn on the phone by pressing and holding the power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.

If the issue still persists even after performing the steps listed above then you will need to bring the phone to a service center as this could already be a hardware related problem.

S6 Not Starting After Getting Wet

Problem: Hi. I’ve got a Samsung Galaxy S6. It accidently gotten wet, now phone wont start up. I have dropped in in rice for 3 days. The first time after getting wet it went on but then battery were drained so it went off. I put It on charge, but the light in front of phone began to flicker, the whole time, but it still does not want to go on.

Solution: If you have already placed the phone in rice for 3 days and this issue occurs then it’s possible that the water might have already affected some internal component of the phone. You can perform the troubleshooting steps listed below and check if it fixes the problem.

  • Press and hold the power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this.
  • Try cleaning the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air then charge the phone using its wall charger for at least 20 minutes ( if the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger). Turn on the phone.

If the issue persists then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as the device might be water damaged.

S6 Screen Is Black After Drop

Problem: I dropped my new samsung galaxy s6 and after I went to pick it up, the screen wasn’t cracked, but it was completely black and the only thing  working was the LED light, which flashed blue. Please help.

Solution: Try restarting the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. If the phone still starts with a black screen then try charging it first for at least 20 minutes then start the phone in recovery mode. If the screen works in this mode then I suggest that you do a factory reset from here. In case the screen does not work in this mode then the drop might have damaged the phone display. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Shuts Off When Connected To Charger

Problem: My phone was fine it was down to 10 percent I plugged it into my charger and it shut off… while on the charger it will not turn back on all it shows on the screen is a flickering battery not the normal battery as it shows when it’s charging… this same thing happened to my friends phone… no water damage or anything like that just looking for a way to fix this as I have never had a problem with it until tonight. Thank you

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to first attempt a battery pull. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. Once this is done clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air then charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using its wall charger. If the issue persists then try using a different charging cord and wall charger.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be a hardware related problem.

S6 Lagging And Glitching

Problem: Hello, So I’ve had my phone now for over a year now, but recently in the last couple of months my phone has been lagging, glitching for a couple of minutes, my mobile data wont work sometimes and prevents me from sending messages and a lot more. But this has all seem to be happening when the back of my phone started making some squirting sort of sounds, but it vibrates my phone vigorously this has only happened at least 4 times in 2 months. Now I’m not sure what is happening to my phone but it’s sure having a mind of its own.

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be a hardware related problem.

S6 Not Turning On After Soaking In Water

Problem: I dropped my Samsung Galaxy S6 in the shower and it got moderately soaked. I picked it up right away and pat it dry then put it inside a bag of rice to “take away the moisture.” After about a day, I took it out and there was a flashing blue light LED at the top of the phone but my phone would not turn on after I would press the power button. I tried to do a hard reset, but the phone screen would still not turn on. Nothing I do seems to get my phone working again. I’ve dropped my phone 100 times (it’s never had a case) so I’m thinking the water, and not the actual fall itself, is what is causing my phone to malfunction. Help please! Is this something I can get fixed or do I need a new phone?

Solution: Try charging the phone first for at least 20 minutes using its wall charger then do a factory reset from the recovery mode. If this does not work then the phone might be water damaged in which case you will need to bring it to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Black Gray Horizontal Lines On Screen

Problem: Have a Samsung Galaxy s6 Phone has black & gray horizontal lines on the screen & blue light is on. I tried to hold the power button & volume down button but it won’t even turn off or on. Also, phone is hot. I can’t get anything to work…it keeps displaying the small black & gray lines. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Solution: If your phone won’t turn on or off then what you should do first is to simulate a battery pull. To do this you have to press and hold the power and volume down button for around 20 seconds. This simulates a battery disconnect and should restart your device.

Once your phone restarts and you still see the black and gray horizontal lines then follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. This way you will be able to check if the issue is caused by an app you downloaded since only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run in this mode. If the issue does not occur when the phone is in this mode then it is most likely caused by an app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. This erases the temporary system data which could be causing this issue.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If after performing the steps listed above the issue still occurs then this might be caused by a defective display. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.

S6 Black Screen

Problem: Galaxy S6.  The screen has what looks like black paint that very slowly seeps down covering the screen so that I can’t see anything. The phone works fine, but without a screen it’s difficult to guess where to touch the screen. In the space of 24 hours 2/3 of the screen is now black. The phone has not been dropped or exposed to water.

Solution: This type of issue usually occurs when the display has been damaged caused by some pressure exerted to it. You should however try to check if this is a software issue by starting the phone in recovery mode. If the screen works normally in this mode then I suggest that you do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy before proceeding. If however the issue still occurs even in recovery mode then you might need to have the display replaced at a service center.

S6 Screen Is Black After Drop

Problem: I dropped my phone, and since then the screen has been black, although the upper right quadrant will flash occasionally. I performed a reboot by holding the volume down/power/home keys simultaneously, and since then the led at the top of the screen has been stuck as a constant blue, and the screen is still occasionally flashing.

Related Problem: My phone fell from my bed and landed on the floor, but once I checked it wouldn’t turn on. Once it did a black/purple spot appeared a I haven’t been able to use the touchscreen from the time display down.

Solution: It’s very likely that the display has been damaged by the drop. To check if this is the case you should try to start the phone in recovery mode. If the screen works in this mode then the problem could just be caused by a software glitch in which case a factory reset is recommended. Take note that this erases your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy. If the screen is still black even in recovery mode then I suggest you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked. It’s possible that you will need to replace the whole display assembly or the problem might just be caused by a loose connection between the screen and the motherboard.

S6 Capacitive Buttons Blinking

Problem: Hi, I have a Samsung S6 32GB, the problem is when I turn on the screen, the “back” and “recent apps” capacitive buttons start blinking (they work well), but the screen doesn’t respond properly and the phone runs slow, like per frames. I have done a hard reset and start It on safe mode, but It keeps happening the same. Here there is a vídeo that I uploaded to YouTube with the problem: https://youtu.be/cc6W-_KpEOM Thank you very much!

Solution: If a factory reset doesn’t fix the problem then this could already be a hardware related issue possibly caused by a failing internal component. I recommend that you have your phone checked at a service center capable of doing board level repairs.

S6 Ghost Touch

Problem: Hi Guys, I have a Samsung Galaxy s6 and having issues on its lcd/screen, it didn’t fell or got wet but suddenly the touch screen is not working fine, it seems like it auto touch and pulls up or open some apps/ specifically it always open the screen where u can see the current apps/screens which are open. need your assistance please. thank you in advance.

Solution:  Does your phone have a screen protector or case installed? Try removing this first as this might be causing the problem. You should also check if an app you installed is causing the problem by starting your phone in Safe Mode. When the phone operates in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps you downloaded are prevented from running. If the problem does not occur in this mode then it is most likely caused by an app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then this might already be a hardware issue possibly caused by a faulty display assembly. If this is the case I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Screen Not working But Phone Is On

Problem: Hello I dropped my Galaxy s6 active and when I dropped it the screen worked and so I put it in my pocket and when I went to plug it in the screen did not turn on but my phone is on and I know it’s on because the red charging LED was solid.  What is going on. Do I need to send it in to get it fix or is it something that I can get done at home.

Solution: It’s very likely that the display might have been damaged by the drop or its connection to the motherboard has become loose. If this is the case then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked. You should however try to start the phone in recovery mode and check if the screen works in this mode. If it does then the problem might just be caused by a software glitch. You will need to do a factory reset in recovery mode to fix the problem. Take note that this will erase your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy before proceeding.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Screen Stops Responding To Touch

The #Samsung #Galaxy #S6 is the first flagship phone in the S series that changes the way the company designs their premium device. While the S5 relied mostly on plastic parts and had a removable back cover the S6 now uses an aluminum frame sandwiched between two glasses. This makes the phone not only look good but also feel good. Although this is a solid performing device there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S6 stops responding to touch issue and other related problems.

S6 Screen Stops Responding To Touch

Problem: Hello, so basically here is my problem. I will try to be as detailed as possible. So around June 2017 I decided to buy a S6 in Indonesia. I decided to buy a second hand phone (which I have learnt is never a good idea), that seemed to be in perfect condition. I got everything that usually comes with a S6 including a charger. I still don’t know if the charger is real or not but my friends tell me that the adapter looks real, but the wire seems kind of flimsy. So I continued to use the phone in Indonesia normally for about a month when I moved in India. Here I used the same charger and continued using it with no issue until around August. I noticed that my screen would occasionally stop responding to touch for like 10 seconds, however all the other buttons worked.. I initially thought it was due to my case causing it to overheat, so I removed the case and the problem seemed to stop. Then it occured again and again, with it not working for longer and longer periods. Then I started switching chargers with my brothers Motorola G4 (which had a original fast charger). I would occasionally use his charger and occasionally use mine, and after a week the problem stopped completely. Then I travelled back to Indonesia in December and I only used my first Samsung charger and within a matter of just 2 days the touchscreen problem started again, and this time it was much worse. It completely stopped working for a whole month. As usual, everything else works. The speakers, flashlight, home/back/volume buttons all worked. I took it to the samsung service centre and they said it was a problem with the screen and they would need to replace it for an absurdly high price. I decided to just leave it for a while. However i noticed something really weird. The touch screen would respond a slight bit whenever I was in electronic repair shops. Whenever I was near these places, it would start working, and when I left it went back to not responding at all. I came back to India in January with it still not working. I decided to go to a Samsung service centre here and suddenly out of nowhere when I placed the phone on the table at the service centre it immediately started working! It was so odd. Then I calibrate my touch screen using third party and continued using it for a few weeks and charged only using my brothers charger and it worked fine. Then I tried using my first charger once again, and within two days, the problem returned. It has not been responding to touch for the past week and I have no idea what to do because I am certain it isn’t a software issue, and I am certain that it will work sooner or later because this whole thing has happened before so i don’t want to change my screen and digitizer. Any ideas on what to do?

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to first check if the problem is caused by a software glitch. To do this you need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try checking first if the issue still occurs. If it does then the problem might be caused by a faulty digitizer in which case you will need to have the whole display assembly replaced. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.

S6 Screen Is Black After Drop

Problem: My phone was sitting on a counter and it fell. It first turned red, then blue, now black. I know it is on but I can’t see anything. I have tons of pictures on my phone that I really want to keep, but when I plug it into a cable in my computer, it says there is NOTHING on the phone, how can I resolve this??

Solution: It’s very likely the drop might have damaged the display or some other internal component in the phone. You should try restarting the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. If the issue persists after this then you need to have this checked at  a service center.

S6 Black Screen With No Lights

Problem: Have done all of the suggested troubleshooting steps but no fix.  I have the Galaxy s6 which has an internal battery that can be taken out for testing.MY PROBLEM:  Black screen with NO lights at all. I know that it is charged b/c I charged it overnight in a  POWER CASE (name brand of a charger for the phone that allows you take the phone with you all day and can be recharged in the case…not a wall charger).  The phone charger shows 4 blue lights that the power case is charged. Maybe it isn’t charging the phone?? I just tried to charge my phone with a regular wall charger but nothing happens…it doesn’t even give a percentage of charging, which it usually does. All is pure black so I can’t tell id the power button is on or off or whether the side buttons for volume, notifications, etc are on or off.

Solution: The best thing you can do right now is to charge the phone for at least 20 minutes then if the phone responds try turning it on. If the issue persists then this is most likely caused by a hardware component that is failing to work. You need to have this checked at a service center.
